25.01.2022 Frost Vs Gurney on the last day of Term 1 in the mighty Cross Country competition..... It was wonderful to see students running the course and giving their best efforts. Our younger students completed a 1km fun run, whilst the older representative-aged students competed in either a 2km or 3km course. Lovely to have parents watching this year and the rain held off during the morning, although students had to run through some muddy sections on the course.
24.01.2022 Learning about personal safety is very important. Today our Year 3 students visited Marian School and participated in a presentation by CQU drama students called ‘Safety Circus’. This presentation is supported by Qld Police and incorporates safety issues through dramatic play.

21.01.2022 Last year, 1,759 Queensland children were diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. More than half of these children went into DKA*, a dangerous complication of undiagnos...ed type 1 diabetes. This #WorldDiabetesDay, we want you to know the four signs of type 1 diabetes toilet (frequent urination or bedwetting), thirsty (always asking for fluids), tired (adequate sleep but still tired) and thinner (losing weight). If your child has one or more of these symptoms urgently ask your GP for a finger-prick blood glucose test. It’s easy, fast and could save your child’s life. *Diabetic ketoacidosis #WDD2020 #Queensland #children #DKA #type1diabetes #4Ts https://www.childrens.health.qld.gov.au/service-endocrinol/ See more

08.01.2022 A huge Hampden thank you to our fire safety heroes from Walkerston Fire Station. On Monday our Prep and Year One students learnt and practised some safety skills to keep themselves and their families safe when there is a fire: - Plan your way out, have a family evacuation plan - Get down low and Go Go Go - Scream and shout - Stop drop roll... Students practised these important skills and also learnt about the fire truck. An enjoyable experience for all. See more
