05.01.2022 It is with great relief I can share our story now. Last week was a stressful one for us. 200 of our beehives were surrounded by fire in a national park in New South Wales. Every day we would check the fire maps and see the fire moving closer to our bee hives. It was heart wrenching! We finally got the go ahead from the New South Wales fire department to get our bees out on Saturday as the wind had changed direction and the fire department was on call as backup. There were emb...ers all over the place around the hives from the previous two days. It's a miracle they didn't light up the dry grass. A raging bush fire was about 1 kilometer away from our bee hives. The team managed to get the hives out just in time, as on Monday, the sites where we had our bees on were consumed by fire! Special thanks to the New South Wales fire department for the information, our team for one massive day and everyone for their prayers that we get out safely! See more
