24.01.2022 We have decided to create a private space to provide our online learning program and support for term 2. Please join our private group for learning resources, updates and videos to support families learning from home in 2020.
24.01.2022 What are we up to this fortnight? Among many other things, we are learning about repeating patterns with natural objects, and continuing to explore measurement in our play inside and outside. The children proudly planned and designed a new pet shop/ vet play area following on with an interest in pets, and we will be reading Hairy Maclary and learning about rhyming words. Don't forget our learning program is updated fortnightly and lives in the main foyer.
23.01.2022 Families who normally attend on a Monday and Tuesday please check your emails. Hope everyone is managing to keep cool during the hot weather. Stay safe

Well also be exploring childrens theories of friendship, making our own Dear Zoo books and painting with water and chalk. An interest in paper aeroplanes has emerged, leading to a STEM challenge - can you design and make a strong aeroplane? and more numeracy opportunities for measurement, sorting and data collection. The full learning program is available in the foyer.

21.01.2022 A huge thank you to all our families for your co-operation following the instructions about drop off and pick ups. Some families may have missed the communication due to absence or misinterpreted it. Just a friendly reminder when dropping off and collecting children. Please do not enter the school grounds before 8.30 or before your preferred collection time and only enter the school grounds at the Muller Road Car Park entrance. The school has requested that families do no...t walk across the oval. Thank you for your understanding and support during what has been a very challenging time for everyone.
21.01.2022 You are invited to attend a consultation event for the review of the Melbourne Declaration on Educational Goals for Young Australians. The Education Council wants to hear from education stakeholders, including teachers, principals, students and parents. The current Melbourne Declaration, agreed by Education Council ministers in 2008, articulates nationally consistent education goals for young Australians. It has guided the design and delivery of education and laid the foundat...ion for the development of school curricula and assessment. Follow the link to find the Adelaide event. https://www.eventbrite.com.au/o/review-of-the-melbourne-dec

15.01.2022 Staff and The Governing Council Committee have recently reviewed and updated several policies, these include Allergy Aware Policy, Behaviour Guidance, Healthy Eating, Rest and Sleep Procedure, Toileting/Nappy Change Procedure and a new policy - Water Safety Policy. If anyone would like copies of these policies they are available in the foyer area. If you would like to provide any feedback about these or have any questions then please speak with a member of staff.
14.01.2022 We are prepared for a potential coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic spreading to South Australia. People should be alert, but not alarmed. Ongoing research ...and evidence suggests that COVID-19 presents as a mild illness in the majority of cases, with fever and cough being the most commonly reported symptoms. Severe illness and fatalities occur more often in people who are older, have chronic conditions (e.g. cardiovascular disease, diabetes, hypertension) or are immunocompromised (e.g. cancer, renal disease). Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people may also be at increased risk. Our hospitals are ready and prepared to respond. We have opened a COVID-19 clinic at the RAH and are planning more across metro SA. These clinics will test and treat patients outside of Emergency Departments. There is no need to stockpile food or toilet paper. However, you may want to have a few weeks of essential items such as regular medications in case you become unwell and cannot leave your home except to seek medical treatment. If you are well, you do not need to wear a mask unless you have been advised to do so by a medical provider. Surgical masks in the community are only helpful in preventing people who are suspected or have COVID-19 from spreading it to others. We all have a part to play in reducing the risk of getting sick and stopping the spread of infections: Stay home from work and school if you are unwell (e.g. dont go shopping or use public transport until you are well). Avoid contact with others if you are sick (particularly vulnerable people such as older persons and people with chronic medical conditions). If others are sick, keep your distance from them as much as possible (at least 1.5 metres), avoid close contact such as shaking hands, hugging, kissing. Wash hands regularly, particularly after going to the toilet, blowing your nose or handling used tissues. Cover coughs and sneezes with a clean tissue or your elbow. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth, or handling food, until you have washed your hands. Wipe down frequently touched surfaces.
14.01.2022 Reminder - photo day is this Tuesday for the children who attend on a Monday and Tuesday. Dont forget to complete your form. You can order on line using the details on the form or pay cash on the day.
14.01.2022 We can now advise that we are re-opening from Monday 8.30am! Please be aware that parents and caregivers will temporarily not be allowed onto the school grounds. All children are to be dropped off (between 8.30-9am) and collected in 15 minute increments 3-4pm, at the Muller rd staff car park entrance (next to the oval and traffic lights). Please check your emails for further details.
14.01.2022 Can you guess which childrens interest we are following this fortnight?! If you are a parent/ caregiver of a child currently enrolled, please join the 2020 Learning together group for more information.
13.01.2022 Please can you make sure that your child has a hat at Preschool, our SunSmart policy states that children must wear a hat during terms 1,3 and 4 and at others times when the UV index is 3 or above. Unfortunately children will not be able to play outside if they do not have a hat.
13.01.2022 We have focused on large loose part play outside (lots going on in the sandpit at the moment), and we're currently doing a project around increasing engagement and learning in our indoor small loose part play area. You may have noticed some changes to the block area recently! We would love your ideas or feedback on this learning, and help gathering new to us open-ended resources, such as those pictured in this link. We love to use natural items where possible. We currently have rocks, shells, wooden beads, wooden blocks, bottle lids, woven branches etc. but I wonder if our families have anything at home they'd be willing to donate?! As always we appreciate your input
13.01.2022 This is a wonderful resource for learning at home, please check it out. There is a 'prior to school' section full of links to stories, online experiences and activities you can do at home- all linked to our Early Years Learning Framework. You can also find resources for your older children here. We well be posting more resources online over the coming weeks.

10.01.2022 From 7 Aug 2020, it will be mandatory for children attending an early childhood service to be up-to-date with vaccinations. Parents are required to provide appr...oved immunisation records upon enrolment, and at other specific ages throughout the childs attendance at: childcare centres family day care pre-schools kindergartens early learning centres Early childhood services are also required to keep a copy of all approved immunisation records for the duration a child is enrolled in their service. Retaining immunisation records onsite will enable a faster response time during a vaccine preventable disease outbreak, and help protect vulnerable children. An approved immunisation record is a childs immunisation history statement from the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR): https://bit.ly/31tPvw9 Check the AIR to see your childs records, and talk to your immunisation provider to ensure your child is fully immunised. Read through our parent and carer FAQs here: https://bit.ly/2ZjseKV

We will leave the packs in the foyer for you to pop in and collect this week without having to come into the kindy room. Please have a look at the 'STEM inspiration for families...' book for some excellent activities relating to the stories in the literacy packs. these activities are easy and fun to complete at home.
