23.01.2022 This year marks the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. As the world welcomed peace, thousands returned home to much fanfare, and their loved ones. Thousands more never made the journey home including the animals. This year we are not only using the red poppy BUT we would like to highlight the purple poppy this year. The purple poppy is often worn to remember animals that have been victims of war. Animals like horses, dogs and pigeons were often drafted into ...the war effort, and those that wear the purple poppy feel their service should be seen as equal to that of human service. This year as always we are well supported by the community. Involved RSL, Veterans and soldiers, Anthony Byrne MP & Gary Maas MP, Hampton Park Secondary College, Kilberry Valley PS, St. Kevin’s PS, Hampton Park PS and Rivergum PS, Hampton Park Uniting Church, Hampton Park Community Garden, Hampton Park Baptist Church, Hampton Park Library and local businesses Join us on the 11th November and go purple #HPPA1922 #Business #Communitymatters #schools #LestWeForget

07.01.2022 The Hampton Park Progress Association may no longer be at the Arthur Wren Hall but we are still here to advocate for the Hampton Park Community. If you have any issues that you would like the HPPA to assist with or conversely any good news stories that you would like to share, please feel free to contact us via our email [email protected] We have been here for 98 years supporting our community and plan to continue for another 98....at least :) #HPPA1922 #HamptonPark #communitymatters

02.01.2022 Most people are unaware that as well as the traditional red poppy worn to mark the Remembrance Day 11 November, that there is also the purple poppy, remembering animals that died during conflict. We encouraged our community to wear the purple poppy alongside the traditional red poppy as a reminder that both humans and animals have and continue to serve. This year’s Hampton Park Remembrance Day service, will be much like the 2020 ANZAC Day service and it will be done from home.... The HPPA has put a small video together for todays service. Lest We Forget To commemorate all the animal deeds and sacrifices in war https://www.youtube.com/watch #HPPA1922 #Communitymatters #LestWeForget
