22.01.2022 What a beautiful day on the beach! Sun, surf, long-awaited awards and a surprise visit from a certain someone in red.

20.01.2022 Nina Taylor MP visited Hampton today to deliver the great news about our state government grant for necessary refurbishments. We are very grateful for these funds. Here’s a shot of Nina with some of today’s patrollers.

19.01.2022 SLSA catches up with Kerrie Curtis to chat about our Starfish Nippers program - heading into our 8th year! Looking forward to another fun season of Nippers and Starfish Nippers

19.01.2022 It was fantastic to have all our Nippers and Starfish back on the beach yesterday and Hampton turned on the weather. Congratulations to our returning and new Junior Coaches, and all our other volunteers for ensuring fun was had by 250 of our younger members. Fingers crossed the weather is just as good for our Christmas Nippers program next Saturday.

16.01.2022 A message from our president: Good Morning everyone, I hope you enjoyed the Grand Final weekend congratulations to the Tigers & commiserations to the Cats! Here are a few updates in relation to the upcoming season. Remember, at this stage the club is still closed except for emergency response & essential maintenance.... 1. Renovations the builders have almost finished the refurbishment of the changing rooms and toilet facilities. This is a big improvement. 2. Covid-safe plans - We are working through our HLSC specific covid-safe plans. Once the renovations are complete we will undertake a thorough clean of the clubhouse and then finalize all relevant signage so that we can open the club for patrols & other permitted activities 3. Skills maintenance (requal) - This year we are limited in terms of how many candidates we can process at a time. At this stage the limit is 12 per session so if you want to requal with friends please coordinate your bookings when the online system is activated. We are presently looking at November 21 & 22 so save the dates! If you are unavailable on these dates please keep an eye out for LSV state run requal. 4. Patrols commence on November 14. 5. Nippers / Starfish Plans are underway for the season & will be released soon! 6. New award training Due to the current restrictions we have not scheduled any new award training as yet. We aim to run a range of courses so watch this space for updates. See you on the beach! Best wishes Andy

15.01.2022 Fantastic to have a few HLSC teams competing this year!

11.01.2022 *IMPORTANT REQUAL INFORMATION* Hi Everyone, Due to the COVID-19 regulations, requal will be running differently this season - there are some important steps to follow and be aware of when attending your booked requal session this weekend. ... 1. Please DO NOT ATTEND your session if you have any symptoms of COVID-19 - these include runny nose, fever, cough, sore throat, headaches, loss of taste or smell, chest pain or shortness of breath and fatigue. PLEASE go and get tested - contact [email protected] on the morning of your requal day if you are unwell. 2. Please enter the club from the upper level - members will not have access to the downstairs club rooms. 3. Please wait outside the upper level club rooms at the beginning of your requal session and wait to be greeted by one of the assessors. 4. Please ensure you are wearing bathers and are READY to complete your run-swim-run - NO access is available to the club changing / shower facilities. 5. Please wear a mask correctly at all times. If there are any issues, please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected] Thanks Jas

09.01.2022 A fantastic effort to all involved in this weekend's Skills Maintenance Sessions... We have been able to put through 16 SRCS, 83 BM, 30 ARTC, 46 IRBC and 31 IRBD awards this weekend which is an amazing effort to all involved. A big thank you to Jesse Tammesild, Laura-Jay Goudie, Carol and Andy Lawrence who I could not have run the 11 seperate sessions held this weekend without! ... If you have not been able to requalify yet this season, Sam Dwyer is running an extra session at 11:30am on December 13th. This will be available for bookings online shortly.

08.01.2022 President, Prof. Andrew Lawrence (R), Rowan Cole (L) and Lara Smith (R), are among the many dedicated volunteers who give their time and skills to keep locals s...afe in the surf. We are investing $20,499 in the Hampton Life Saving Club to improve infrastructure and facilities, back in the important work that our volunteers do and provide a boost in employment within the local community. I look forward to seeing the upgrades completed. Lisa Neville MP

02.01.2022 We were about to add the Starfish kickoff photos, too, but Starfish Nippers Australia beat us to it. So happy to have so many new and returning smiles on the beach yesterday!

02.01.2022 A Message from our President Hi everyone I’m sure you are all relieved at the end of the ring of steel & looking forward to summer approaching fast. Here’s a summary of where we are at with season preparations at HLSC.... 1. Membership renewal. You can renew your membership through the membership page on the HLSC website. Go to https://www.hlsc.org.au/join-hlsc Please remember to do this ASAP! You will note that our membership fees have been reduced this season. 2. Requal. As many of you are aware there have been a number of issues with the online theory component of requal. My advice is to use Google Chrome as your browser & if you have any problems please contact LSV. We have limits on how many people can requal at any given time so please think carefully when you book a slot. Remember it’s the weekend of November 21/22. 3. Clubhouse. The maintenance work to the bathrooms and changing rooms is complete. Here’s a photo of the finished job, which is a great improvement. Thanks to everyone who helped out in this project. Also, yesterday a few of us completed the preparation to open up the clubhouse. All necessary signage has been posted and we have hand sanitizer stations at entrance sites. Please see in the photo of the sanitizer station there is also a QR code, which must be scanned when you enter the club. This will launch a questionnaire that you need to complete to confirm that you are free of covid symptoms etc. At this stage we ask that only patrolling members access the club rooms due to the onerous cleaning conditions we need to adhere to. Thank you all for your understanding on this. 4. Sport. It was great to see some of you and your families training yesterday morning. We are currently allowed to have 4 groups of 10 plus their coach and water safety for a 2 hour block. 5. Nippers/Starfish. Kirsten & Kerrie have been working hard to develop a program for this season. We aim to commence Nippers / Starfish on December 12th so please save the date & keep your eyes & ears open. As ever, if any of you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me ([email protected]). See you on the beach! Andy

01.01.2022 A warm start to season 20/21 for the Groove Patrol. It was great to be back on the beach and lovely to have so many HLSC visitors.

01.01.2022 Hi Everyone! Just a reminder that Hampton's requal is next weekend. Spaces are filling quickly. ... Please make sure you sign up as you will not be able to requal unless you have booked a place at a practical session and completed your theory. Requal is staggered with limited group sizes this year due to COVID-19 restrictions, this is why you MUST sign up. Here is the link: https://mt.lsv.com.au/login/ Log in with your SLSA members portal detail. Please contact me at [email protected] if you have any problems Thanks Jas
