25.01.2022 COVID-19 hasn't stopped our Senior VCAL students! As part of their Senior VCAL certificate, students had to plan a complex project and see it through to completion whilst showing leadership and high level collaboration. Instead of telling students what their projects were, VCAL teachers handed the learning outcomes to them, asking them to map their own assessments to ensure it met the necessary outcomes and competencies.... Students divided themselves up in to groups and began planning how they would meet these. What you see in this video is the result of this work. Senior VCAL would like to present to you... - Inspirational artwork for the female toilets - Mosaic signage outside our VCAL spaces - Redwood bench seating - Upcycled vertical veggie gardens - An Indigenous garden in the Art Courtyard We can't wait for all our students to be back on site soon to enjoy these projects!

10.01.2022 Important information for students!

10.01.2022 On 11 November 1918, the guns of the Western Front fell silent after four years of continuous warfare. With their armies retreating and close to collapse, German leaders signed an Armistice, bringing to an end the First World War. From the summer of 1918, the five divisions of the Australian Corps had been at the forefront of the allied advance to victory. Beginning with their stunning success at the battle of Hamel in July, they helped to turn the tide of the war at Amiens ...in August, followed by the capture of Mont St Quentin and Pèronne, and the breaching of German defences at the Hindenburg Line in September. By early October the exhausted Australians were withdrawn from battle. They had achieved a fighting reputation out of proportion to their numbers, but victory had come at a heavy cost. They suffered almost 48,000 casualties during 1918, including more than 12,000 dead. Each year on this day we observe one minute’s silence at 11am, in memory of those who died or suffered in all wars and armed conflicts.

03.01.2022 Important CSEF 2020 Update To all ELIGIBLE CSEF Families/Carers, The CSEF (Camps, Sports and Excursion fund) usage is normally restricted to camps, sports and excursions activities. As there is limited opportunity to undertake these activities this year, it was announced by DET (Department of Education and Training) in Term 2 that CSEF could be used for technology devices and internet access.... CSEF usage has now been expanded further to include voluntary school charges. It may not be used for school uniforms, before/after school care, music lessons or formals/graduations. As a result, we will now to be allocating CSEF monies towards outstanding 2020 School Fees only. Should you wish to discuss this further please contact the School Office on [email protected].
