18.01.2022 IMPORTANT TAX INFORMATION 1.) 2014-2015 Tax Deadline Are you registered with a Tax Agent and your 2014-2015 Tax Returns are outstanding? You need to get your paper work in now to avoid the possibility late penalty charges. Dont leave it to the last minute! This is for Income Tax Returns for Individuals, Partnership, Companies, Trusts and Self-Managed Superannuation Funds.... 2.) Motor Vehicle claims and Odometer reading for the financial year ending 30th June 2016. As mentioned in our 2015 newsletter, from 1st July 2015, only two methods are available for claiming work related motor vehicle expenses. They are the logbook method and the cents per kilometre method, which has one standardised deduction rate of 66c per kilometre regardless of the engine size. A general reminder: Logbooks need to be reviewed every 5 years and if necessary a continuous 12 week record of mileage needs to be completed.
