20.01.2022 Yesterday, 380 regional students who are engaging with the Home Program attended a virtual excursion to the The Yiribana Gallery in the Art Gallery of New South... Wales! Connecting students with gallery staff working with Indigenous art and cultural practices, students visited the 'Under the Stars' exhibition, focused on several Biennale of Sydney artworks, and got a close look at Wiradjuri artist Roy Kennedy’s prints and Wiradjuri/Kamilaroi artist Michael Riley’s photographs, two focus artists in this year’s program. It was also fascinating to hear about the Dora Ohlfsen commission for the building’s unfinished front facade, spend some time immersed in the installation by the Mulka Project, and hear about several artworks including Vincent Namatjira’s Studio self-portrait from Cara Pinchbeck, Senior Curator, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art. A huge shout out to all schools who joined us yesterday for this unique virtual event! Also, CONGRATULATIONS to our Kahoot quiz winners Gundagai South PS!!
