25.01.2022 To parents/guardians of year 8-11 GAT dancers, Unfortunately for reasons out of our control the Weld Square 50th performance has been cancelled and students will no longer be required for the lunchtime rehearsals. Event organisers are hoping to postpone it to later in the year but there is no confirmation of a date at this point. 24.01.2022 The Hampton SHS Specialist Performing Arts students from Years 7 & 8 joined by Year 11 ATAR and General drama students were subsequently treated to the Pop-Up G...lobes production of A Midsummer Nights Dream. The production was excellent and students were able to have an experience that does not come around too often. The combination of the Globe Theatre, the excellent Shakespearean actors on cast, and the direct interaction with the audience thrilled the students into realising Shakespearean plays arent all that bad after all. Student behaviour was exemplary throughout the excursion, they were well mannered, respectful and engaged at every turn. The highlight of the show was definitely when all of the students including myself and Miss Flint were sprayed with blood as Pyramus and Thisbe dramatically, and comically, thrust daggers into their chests. 13.01.2022 Congratulations to our Project EDGE dancers for a wonderful performance of 'Occupations' yesterday afternoon! This year we had a short 6 week project but every week these dancers worked super hard on creating movement and learning dance phrases that came together extremely quickly because of their excellent behaviour, enthusiasm and dedication to the project! A special thanks to Brianna Pollard and Ariella Stewart (Yr 10 GAT Dance) for volunteering your time each week to help... with our dance, to Chloe Hulse, Shaurya Dhull (year 11 media) and Sophia Papiccio (year 9 photography) for capturing these awesome photos and filming the performance and lastly a massive thank you to Mr Langfield and Mr Sawle for taking photos, filming, editing and promotional material! Through Project ACE we focus on providing young passionate ...performers with the opportunity to FastTrack their entry into our Specialist Performing Arts (Drama) Program at Hampton SHS. During the 6 week program, the participants will engage in group and individual workshops centred around building industry based knowledge and skills. This will allow them to seamlessly shift into the Specialist Performing Arts (Drama) Program with a clear idea of the challenges ahead and with the skills to set themselves up for the best possible start for the years ahead. The sessions will include work-shopping voice and movement with the focus on telling stories through the use of dynamic and challenging techniques. 02.01.2022 The first week back this term was crazy busy for the Arts with our annual end of year dance concert. The concert was again a huge success with two sold out shows. The Year 7-12 Dance and Cheer students were exceptional in both behaviour and performances and we are so very proud of their achievements. It is always a very intense start to term 4 but they really shined on stage and certainly should be congratulated for an incredible show!
