23.01.2022 This is a quick announcement to let people know that the Weaver Interest Group is cancelled for this coming Saturday, June 15 and the Spinners Study Group on June 16th. This is due to the guild rooms being renovated. The painters say that they will be finished on Friday, but the rooms certainly won't be put back together by the weekend. There may not even be enough floor space to put up a table. (The photo is worth a thousand words) So as much as we hate to do it we will hav...e to cancel rather than postpone or relocate as its a bit tight to organise something else. Because Anne doesnt have any means of contacting all the people that could come, especially as new people come most months, the Guild has sent out this blanket email and posting here to try and alert all. We do apologise

23.01.2022 As promised, here is the link to video footage at our June meeting, with Nathan & Marilyn Peters talking about their amazing journey to restore an old Hattersley loom. These looms are used commercially for domestic industry in the Islands surrounding Scotland. They use human treadle power to lift the shed, throw a flying shuttle and even change colours. Nathan and Marilyn were keen to have more than a table loom, when they discovered this particular loom. Nathan is a fitter a...nd turner by trade (just as well) and Marilyn is a colour / fashion consultant. The restoration was painstaking, and it is a continuing labour of love. Nathan now does most of the treading/weaving, while Marilyn is kept busy simply winding the spindles. Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i43W3_-JH80&t=166s
