We're so pleased that you're part of the Hand Brake Turn team helping young people to secure work or connect them to opportunities for further education and personal development. One young man came to Hand Brake Turn really struggling with his mental health and engagement with education," Manmeet said. "He was fascinated and inspired by the journey of one of our older Hand Brake Turn trainers. He finished the course, but he continues to come in every Thursday to help and work alongside the trainer. Now he’s doing a TAFE course, and will soon be taking up a part-time paid role with the Hand Brake Turn fiXit social enterprise. It’s so wonderful to be part of stories like this.

18.01.2022 In early January we launched into 2021 with our new 1-week Taster course. It was a great success! Like a try-before-you-buy initiative, it gives young people the opportunity to explore whether automotive training is for them before they sign on to the full 5-week course. And they must have liked it - after their week of trying it out, 70% of the students decided to sign up for the full course. ... We’ve started using Car Mechanic Simulator every Wednesday so that our students can continue their practical learning while they aren’t allowed to come to our workshops. Check out the video! Our trainers join the students online and repair and service cars in a virtual environment that builds their knowledge, skills and enthusiasm from the safety of their home and it’s fun!
