25.01.2022 A few more before and after photos of the job I’m on at the moment. The down pipes for the tank will be hidden by a timber step.

19.01.2022 Hi Everyone I’m doing Movember again this year so if you have any spare change please donate to me or someone else who’s doing Movember https://mobro.co/ernieatkin?mc=13

17.01.2022 The first wall is just about finished. Earthworks done today for the second wall by Mick Weston at Maleny, if you need earthworks done he’s the one to see.

17.01.2022 We only just got the sleeper retaining wall back filled as it started to rain. I don’t build a lot of timber retaining walls but when I do it makes me realise the amount of energy used to produce all of the materials needed, compared to rock walls.

16.01.2022 A nice blend of stone and wood

16.01.2022 If you’re looking for a quote this week, sorry but Chris is a bit busy...

16.01.2022 A small pond with river rocks for the wall, I’ll update the post when it’s completed with water plants and grasses around the outside.

16.01.2022 Before and after of a small set of steps.

15.01.2022 Just finished building this area for a fire pit, it’s been a great place to work with that view.

15.01.2022 A job I finished last week in between the showers. It’ll be nice to see it once it’s all planted.

15.01.2022 Another job finished, crazy pave porphyry stone with Mary River pebbles. It will look great when the gardens are planted.

13.01.2022 First job of the year, a little bit of paving.

12.01.2022 Double sided free standing wall a great place to sit

12.01.2022 A few before and after photos of a job I’m on at the moment. The original wall had a good base but the middle to top half was collapsing and had a concrete top. So I dismantled the wall and rebuilt it with a new pointed stone top. I also added an extra step to bring the riser down to a more manageable height.

12.01.2022 A small sandstone wall and edging to finish off the week

11.01.2022 A small wall with stone edging and steps.

09.01.2022 Picked up the new apprentice today

09.01.2022 Something a bit different, the owners wanted a small flow through the river rock, just enough to create a subtle sound of trickling water. It’ll look great when it’s all planted out.

09.01.2022 The turf is finally down and after a morning watering it looks great.

08.01.2022 A small amount of brick paving and basalt stone edging.

08.01.2022 A wheelbarrow for every occasion.

08.01.2022 A small repair job this week, the owner didn’t want to spend a lot of money replacing these steps, so all that was done was to replace the old sleepers and adjust the risers so they were all the same height and a more manageable step.

07.01.2022 Here’s some before and after photos of a job I’m on at the moment. The original wall had a good base but from middle half of the wall to the top was collapsing and it also had concrete capping. I dismantled the wall to a solid base and rebuilt it with a nicer looking pointed stone top. The steps were rebuilt and I added an extra tread to bring the risers down to a more manageable height.

07.01.2022 Stepping stone path with Mary River pebbles that I’ve been working on for the last few weeks. The top path was used to hide that it is actually a driveway.

07.01.2022 Just finished this grouted Helidon sandstone wall, I don’t do a lot of grouted walls but it does brighten up the entrance.

07.01.2022 A couple of new chisels to replace the one that I accidentally built into to the last wall I did at Buderim

07.01.2022 Finally got around to updating the website, check it out www.handbuiltstone.com

06.01.2022 Earthworks and hardwood posts going in for a sleeper retaining wall.

06.01.2022 The final earthworks done by Mick Weston. A terraced landscaped always looks great and is a good way of making extra gardening space.

06.01.2022 Helidon sandstone crazy paving I did a few weeks ago, looks great with the furniture.

05.01.2022 Before and after, another set of stone steps. The previous steps had a riser height of 200mm now they’re down to 175mm.

05.01.2022 A small wall to start off the New Year.

01.01.2022 The most recent wall, just finished. The client wanted a more rustic look than I normally do. Same type of build same strength.

01.01.2022 Another wall done, thanks to Suncoast Pergolas for the recommendation
