15.01.2022 Why do dogs smell so much? The answer is simple - dead hair and skin. This is the handsome Diesel and about one third of the total dead hair he shed in his monthly bath and blow out. It's a heap, but it leaves him a lot fresher! Dead hair and skin cells are essentially decaying organic matter that your dog doesn't need in its coat. As these cells decay they attract excess bacteria and yeasts which will smell as they thrive on the food source. The best way to conquer doggy s...mell is to brush your dogs DAILY. Yes, even the short haired ones. Humans shower to get their dead skin cells, dirt and hair off them but dogs need a human helping hand to be brushed. So for clean smelling dogs, if you've showered today - brush your dog! And keep them in a regular grooming cycle to allow coat to shed and regenerate easily. Here's to waggy dogs - not whiffy ones! 13.01.2022 Huge thanks to all my lovely clients on our first weekend - especially for these lovely flowers! All the birds in the area are happy with their new nesting materials ;) We decided to finally put up the page you were all asking for and we'll hope to keep you all updated through here. Welcome! And we hope to see you soon.

10.01.2022 Well it was an epic weekend of grooming and showing but now its time to answer the question - what on earth is a Leonberger?! Not part of McDonald's new menu, a Leonberger is an historic breed of dog developed in Leonberg, Germany. The Leonberger is considered a rare breed here in Australia as there are less than 300 registered breeders in the country. Essentially, the leonberger was bred to do nothing more than look like a lion. They achieved this by crossing giant mountain... and water breeds such as the Saint Bernard, Newfoundland, Bernese Mountain dog and Caucasian shepherd with bitches of any type (though believed to be mainly German shepherds) as they originally thought all notable characteristics came only from the father. They succeeded in making a huge but goofy and sweet dog with the males weighing in at about 75kg and females at around 60kg. There is a noticable difference in appearance between the male and females (just as in lions) with the males being heavier set with lush "manes" around their neck. While only originally bred for looks, these dogs excel in the other uses they were put to such as carting and draft work, water rescue and service and therapy work. They are a truly charming and majestic dog. See more
