07.01.2022 4 stories in 4 months As a part of Henry & Hymas 35th Anniversary we would like to acknowledge our former 4 Directors who played significant roles in the past. Robert Fletcher (own words)... "I first met Geoff & Ian in 1983 whilst working on a coal handling plant at Kooragang Island. Geoff had been introduced to Tilt-Up construction and was interested to introduce it to Australia. Geoff & Ian started the company in 1984, I joined them soon after. We would document the panels on the drawing board and send them to USA for the lifting design from the manufacturer of the lifting equipment. We then decided to produce Tilt-up documentation in Cad. We used to out-source this to a company in North Sydney, but this process was unsatisfactory. We purchased a second-hand PC & plotter. I was given the task to program it. This was a very big investment at the time, costing $50K. Slowly as we got up to speed, the lifting design was done in house. I was able to witness the growth of the company from 5 people with 1 PC to what it is now. Thanks to Geoff & Ian, the culture of a happy workplace and friendliness remains today." Bob’s ability to develop CAD systems gave us the ability to produce accurate and easy to read documentation which continues to be a focus for the current generation. As a Director, Bob was always able to demonstrate the ethical and diplomatic skills that are required in the position Rodney Boss, Director
