17.01.2022 The immediate need for support is still there for the people of Lombok. In the past 24 hours, another 11 earthquakes hit on or near the island, adding to the already extreme death toll. We still need your help. Electricity has been lost once again, and we are trying to raise additional funds for a generator to provide lighting and pump water. Can you please donate or share this post for us? Donations can be made at http://www.hwci.org.au

12.01.2022 The earthquake funds that you donated are being well utilised. From generators to temporary shelters, we can't say thank you enough for your support!

11.01.2022 WHAT A GREAT TAX DEDUCTION OPPORTUNITY!! Handle With Care International need your help! Are you a business, or an individual or group who would like to sponsor one of our projects? (It's TAX DEDUCTIBLE!) During the devastating series of earthquakes on the Indonesian island of Lombok in 2018, our education and disability outreach facilities suffered significant damage to both the external walls and fences, as well as some internal walls. This has dramatically reduced the rang...e of services the centre is able to offer. Our education and disability facilities in Lombok provide a range of important services for disadvantaged children and persons with disabilities, including literacy, business skills, job training and parenting support, as well as core kindergarten and school classes. The safety and security of participants, staff, and particularly the children, is of paramount importance. Funding this project will ensure that the centre is safe from intruders and from the possibility of future collapse. It will enable us to continue to offer a high level of services in a secure environment. We are trying to repair one of our partner's educational facilities that was damaged on the island of Lombok after the earthquakes of last year. The immediate needs have been met, but we have on going, non-critical damage that needs repairing. The costs have been estimated to be AU$3,750 and we are seeking a special donor who can help. This facility caters for a large group of children, as well as sight impaired adults who rely on learning to be able to create a sustainable income. CAN YOU HELP? CLICK HERE: https://members.hwci.org.au/content.aspx As sponsoring this project, you will be entitled to the following - Tax Deduction for the value of the project (refer to Australian Taxation Office for full details) - Affiliation Rights - Whenever this project is mentioned by HWCI, you or your company will also be mentioned - Social Media mentions / credits / links to you or your company - Acknowledgement Certificate - Storefront Decal to be placed on your business for community awareness - A photo and/or write-up about the project for the sponsor to be used in your own promotions.

06.01.2022 Australian scientists may have found the secret to eradicating dengue fever, with a lengthy trial in Indonesia drastically reducing the incidence of the mosquito-borne virus.

01.01.2022 A message from our partners on Lombok: "This morning another earthquake happened and the electricity was still out. We can't do activities, we can't continue cooking to be sent to Sembalun - Vegetables that have been cut into pieces are neglected (as there is no water). Wash dishes are piled up and the kitchen is dirty. We are sad that we cannot make hot drinks for refugees in Samara Lombok. The air here is very cold and we all sleep outside. The cellphone battery is getting weaker, maybe it will die soon. We can't distinguish between earthquakes, headaches or fatigue. All the same as being rocked, pushed, thrown. Conditions like this forbid us to rest. If you rest, it's bad." - Samara Lombok. Can you donate to help? http://www.hwci.org.au
