25.01.2022 I have finished the "Don't tell AJ", which will be his Christmas present. I have had precious little time to quilt in the past month but am progressing in my block of the month and will post a pic when this months instructions are completed.....:)

25.01.2022 I mucked up the back of the don't tell AJ quilt a bit. Worked out the placement of the squares carefully, stitched each row together - then fluffed up and lost the order altogether. So - after a week of not getting the rows close to any order I gave up and figured this was close enough. It is now basted and I have started quilting it. Keep you posted....

25.01.2022 My new project: I have been putting off starting this quilt for about 6 years now. I bought the fabric kit and then chickened out as I was (and still am) terrified of the cutting out.....

24.01.2022 Still getting there - 20 down and 16 more to go.....

24.01.2022 The circle quilt is finally finished and ended up being just shy of 1.5m square. I backed it with a spare quilt top that had been hanging in the cupboard for about 6 years.....

23.01.2022 The "don't tell AJ " quilt top is complete. As he had some squares cut out that he was eventually going to make himself a quilt I am trying to figure out how to piece what he had and add to it for the back. Keep you posted......

23.01.2022 Progressing well on the second "Gravity" quilt - keep you posted...

22.01.2022 Hi all. Well I'm still not doing anything that resembles quilting. Though have been using my scraps up to make masks for friends. Now I have an excess I have found a way to donate them to where they will hopefully be appreciated. There are free patterns in abundance should you want to try for yourself. Try Googling 'Free face mask pattern' - Stay safe :)

21.01.2022 After nearly 2 months, 4 lots of antibiotics as a result of the tooth extraction from hell - I am finally feeling well enough to tackle a new project. I bought Sarah Fielkes "Quilting from little things..." pattern book last month and this is the first project. Keep you posted.....

21.01.2022 I cant say I achieved anything remotely interesting last month but I did manage to make cot quilts out of these 6 panels. Aliesha has a friend who will take them to a market later in the month for me. :)

20.01.2022 A recent count of unfinished simple kids quilt tops and baby panels saw the number at still well over 40. While this weather remains unpleasantly windy I thought I would try and do up a few. These 2 are about 1.2m x 1.6m, flannel backed, quilted with loops and butterflies. I only have to hand sew down the binding, (both were started over 5 years ago - whoops!) Already have another 2 on the go. Keep you posted....

19.01.2022 Progress so far on the new quilt. Not sure I like it yet. Keep you posted......

18.01.2022 Finished 6 cot quilts in the past week - quilted and hand sewn the binding. Currently working on another batch of 30 microwave bowls as I sold all that I made for stock prior to Christmas - Keep you posted.....

18.01.2022 I've found the time to complete this "Hot Mess" quilt. Large stipple and Butterflies in the middle and running hearts in the outer border. (Yes, Ryley - this will be yours XXXX)

18.01.2022 Got a good run at my current block of the month project - progress so far.....

17.01.2022 Had a super productive week.....

17.01.2022 These are the practice blocks that I did before working on each block of Kristi's quilt. As this is all scraps - this has not cost a cent so far. It will be different as I am going to have the lighter fabric on the inside this time and the darker on the outside. Now to cut out the128 diamonds in 6 different fabrics and 64 triangles in 4 fabrics with 5 different configurations. Keep you posted.....

17.01.2022 Almost got Kristi's quilt top together. Its certainly a big one - 2.3m square. Still got the other quilt top to complete. Keep you posted.....

17.01.2022 I made this over the long weekend for a repeat customer - she wanted a minion themed quilt for a tiny girl. As I had some coordinating fabric that I didnt use I turned it into some microwave bowls :)

16.01.2022 Just thought I should post an updated picture of the progress on this years block of the month project -ready for month 9 now. With still 4 months worth of instructions to go this quilt needs each corner completed then another whole row added. Keep you posted.....

16.01.2022 Even though I finished this quilt a few weeks ago, the weather has been to weird to take it outside for a picture - it doesn't fit on the floor in the lounge....

16.01.2022 Hope you are all finding things to do at home (mine shines like a new penny!!) I have quilted the outer part of my Gravity quilt.....Still havent started the colourful centre.....

16.01.2022 We have now completed the worlds slowest partial renovation - gee who would have thought covid would have shut the world down as I packed up my sewing room for a month!!- Meanwhile 5 months later I have my room back and have finished Kristi's quilt - and only 1 year late. Measures about 2.6m x 2.6m - she'll have it by Christmas xxxxxxx

14.01.2022 I was lucky to attend a workshop with Helen Godden some weeks ago and she taught the class how to do this with a sewing machine......

12.01.2022 The "Don't tell AJ" quilt is progressing. I have unpicked at least half and redone as my OCD was unhappy with the orientation of some of the prints within the strip triangles. Working on sewing it all together now......

11.01.2022 Early February (before our world went mad) I ordered new double glazed windows. I packed up the sewing room late on May 5th as they were due. Have to be honest - they are half in as of Thursday 28th May. Hopefully complete this coming week. So thats why I havent been sewing for the past 3 weeks :)

10.01.2022 So far so good. 6 blocks down and 30 still to go. Kristi's quilt blocks on the left and the practice scrap quilt blocks on the right. Keep you posted.....

09.01.2022 28 down, 8 to go. Kristi's quilt blocks on the left door, the scrap quilt blocks on the middle and right door. Keep you posted....

09.01.2022 I have completed the current row on the Block of the month. The next set of instructions will turn up in 4 days to continue on with the next and final border. Keep you posted.....

08.01.2022 My next project is also from Sarah Fielkes Quilting from Little things book. This one will eventually be for son #2 so will be referred to as "don't tell AJ" Keep you posted.....

07.01.2022 The centre of Kristi's quilt is done - now to work on the grey scale rest of the quilt. Keep you posted.....

07.01.2022 I have finished the latest quilt top. It measures 2m square. Still not sure I like it but luckily Ryley does....I'll buy the backing when its on special next and put it in the queue to be quilted ;)

06.01.2022 My block of the month quilt has just one more set of instructions (Decembers) to come. Only the 4 corners to complete. Really looking forward to getting this one finished. Keep you posted......

05.01.2022 All I have managed to achieve this week is yet more "bird cage nappies" - to slip over the bottom of bird cages to stop the little critters flicking seed all over hell and back. The count is now 6 - up side is I'm getting quite good at them :)

04.01.2022 I have been working on the final border for my block of the month. I have skipped ahead a bit but hope to have all 4 sides done by the end of this week. Cant wait to have this finished. Keep you posted......

04.01.2022 I have decided to participate in a quilt along with my favourite quilter. Here is the basket of fabric scraps that I am hoping to turn into that quilt. The Blog is here for anyone else who is curious.....https://thelastpiece.typepad.com/ Keep you posted....

03.01.2022 Finished this 'Crayons' quilt early this morning. If I cant find an owner for it, I'm thinking it would make a great knee rug just for me ;)

03.01.2022 Managed to achieve this much in the past week.....

02.01.2022 I've dragged out my "crayons" quilt to work on some more. Only the centre is sewn together, the outer borders are slapped on the wall to consider - so far - so good. Keep you posted....

02.01.2022 Hi everyone. Hope you are all staying safe. Honestly I haven't sewn a stitch since the end of March. Cleaned, gardened, preserved made jams etc instead. I have signed up and received this ruler, book and lessons for when I get motivated again though. Happy sewing and look after yourself :) have a go at the google images for Braided Twist Tool to get the idea..... https://www.punchwithjudy.com.au/Braided-Twist-Table-Runner
