20.01.2022 We smash our hips and lower back on a daily basis, either through work or play, or a combination of both Sitting down all day for work, resistance training, playing sport or jiu jitsu can have us pulling everything in and rolling everything forward... Here's a quick little routine I do every day to help get some mobility going: Decompress and stretch the lumbar Open up and stretch the hips and add a little thoracic rotation in as well Remember to breathe and relax deeper into the stretch on the breath out - if you hold your breath during a stretch, back off a little bit until you can breathe through it, exactly the same as with a foam roller or trigger point ball Let me know if you have any questions or want to book your next treatment #

15.01.2022 The calm before the storm of supporting the Busselton Ironman 2019 half- and full-event competitors. These people push themselves through a full-event triathlon circuit covering a 3.8km swim, 180km cycle and 42.2km run (yes that is officially a marathon!). By the end of the circuit, the body is near or already beyond breaking point, we need to help them sit down if they can, we remove shoes and socks and scrub down their legs then help them into the tent to collapse onto a ta...ble. It's a mixed bag of emotions: we enter this business to help people and here we see them broken voluntarily. These competitors are actually paying for the privilege of punishing themselves, in the hope of earning an invitation to Kona, Hawaii, just to do it all again. The inspiration here is that these people find a way to keep moving forward. They know what they're in for, and then they sign up to do it again anyway. #MovementIsMedicine
15.01.2022 Very exciting times. Out with the old and in with new! We have transitioned from Zoom Fitness to the all new 360 Allied Health & Fitness. Physiotherapy (@back...2itphysiotherapy ), Exercise Physiologist, Remedial Massage (@handmadermt )and all within a 24/7 gym. It’s been awesome watching the transformations happen and extremely grateful being able to do what i love alongside a great team. I am definitely right where i need to be. 12.01.2022 Usually it's a case of move it or lose it, but today it's move it AND lose it, well that's the plan anyway! Every now and then I take a step back to pause, observe and re-evaluate everything - where I am, where I've been, where I want to go, and most importantly how do I get there? As the saying goes if you fail to plan, you are planning to fail, so in the spirit of continuous learning and putting together a plan to keep moving forward, I've started a deep dive into how I can... better manage my nutrition, to improve my health and myself, to support my training and develop my practice, so I am better equipped to help you This morning's plan is fasted steady state cardio intended to reduce bodyfat, specifically to mobilise stubborn saturated fats out of the male patterned fat cell deposits and into the bloodstream ready to be used as an energy source. 10.01.2022 This was my clinic on Saturday, I spent the day with amazing therapists helping the MACA Cancer 200 cyclists once they arrived in Mandurah These guys and girls all rode over 100 kms for a great cause and arrived exhausted and a bit worse for wear, even just 15 minutes on the table was enough to provide a little muscle stretch and relief, to calm the nervous system and help them keep moving forward At one point in the afternoon there were almost 800 cyclists over the line, wit...h yet more still to complete the event - there were so many on the tables it felt like we had our hands on nearly all of them! #MovementIsMedicine
