21.01.2022 This morning the soil turned at Clare Holland House, an iconic service that has created many special memories for people in our region, marking the launch of an expansion which will see eight additional bedrooms added and make it the biggest of it's kind in Australia. 12.01.2022 "The events of 2020 have had, and continue to have, a profound effect on Pegasus Riding for the Disabled of the ACT, with the prolonged suspension of classes causing confusion and upset for many of our participants and the significant financial effects making it hard to predict the future." Matthew Watson, Executive General Manager. A $25 donation to Pegasus will allow them to purchase new therapeutic teaching aids for use in their programs. 11.01.2022 Peter Gordon, CEO of Hands Across Canberra and Nicholas Flood of IBM at an IBM alumni event last night. The event was held to celebrate the diversity of great people who have worked with IBM in Canberra over the years and importantly to announce a vital new partnership with Hands Across Canberra. Under Nick’s guidance IBM will play a substantial role in connecting the multi-national IT industry to good works in the community. Further announcements about other partnerships will follow.

It is also a perfect example of the power of collaboration and what it can achieve in our community. 03.01.2022 What a way to end the week! Today was the last day of the Youth Homelessness Pathways Challenge and we heard some incredible and innovative pitches from the group - from systems mapping to second hand phone banks, from hospitality start-up ideas to pre-fab housing development, we spoke AI, apps and how technology can support breaking the cycle of youth homelessness and increase collaboration amongst service providers. Many thanks to everyone that participated- your open minds... and hearts make us incredibly hopeful for the future. A HUGE thank you to the wonderful crew at Canberra Innovation Network and The Mill House Ventures Ltd. for facilitating these last two days and bringing to life what was only an idea a few months ago. Thank you to the Canberra Airport for hosting us and also to the many mentors that dedicated their time and shared their talents with everyone during the challenge. 03.01.2022 Hundreds For Thousands is a Christmas fundraiser with a goal of raising $100 for 1000 Families across Canberra, Queanbeyan, Yass, Cooma & Goulburn. All money raised goes directly to a local Salvation Army centre of YOUR CHOICE and will be used to purchase grocery gift cards to give to families in need in the lead up to Christmas and over the holidays.
