25.01.2022 #repost from @lilychoinaturalhealing "In Chinese Medicine, the Kidneys are also known as the root of life. That is because they hold our inherited wisdom and en...ergy, as well as supplying reserve energy to any organ running low on Qi (energy). Its partner organ is the Bladder so if you have Bladder dysfunction, it is treated through strengthening the Kidney system. The described massage is simple yet super effective in promoting energy to flow and stagnation to be removed. There is a version of this movement in every type of Qigong (form of movements that cultivate Qi or energy) because of its healing capabilities. Save this post to practice it daily. This movement is important as it rids stagnant energy out while nourishing the Kidneys. This simple technique balances our Yin and Yang which influences each organ system of the body. In Chinese medicine, the Kidney system includes the adrenal glands, the ovaries in women and the testicles in men hence why the Kidneys are the system in charge of growth, maturation and reproduction. Fertility and aging problems are rooted here! How to? for Winter time only massage the Kidneys in inward circles with your hands in fists. Begin up on the outside, with the hands coming together at the top of your circle, follow downwards in the middle and continue for several minutes. You will feel heat in the region. now tap! Tap over the area alternating sides, one and one with loose fists to alleviate any stuck energy. Continue to tap tout to either side of the gluteus maximus, your butt! This is the way the Kidney energy drains downwards and out. Don't forget to breathe and smile. After several minutes, you can "wipe off" the energy and you are done!"

22.01.2022 You don’t have to live like a monk to be spiritual. You don’t have to stop creating your Instagram persona, shut down facebook or give all your stuff away. We a...re here to have a go at things. Personal growth and self-realization comes from getting involved with the whole messy, complicated and amazing business of life on earth. Our interaction in the material world is important, our spiritual journey is also important. Cover both bases and you’ll understand how temporary the physical part is and how eternal the spiritual is. This is why, in Chinese medicine, we have the physical organ but also the ‘chi organ’. One takes care of the material stuff on earth, and one takes care of the spiritual. What a beautiful system. See more

18.01.2022 It’s like we’re on hold, like we’ve written off 2020 already, like we think next year things will have gone back to normal. But our time here is precious. Inste...ad of waiting to see what happens (creates liver chi stagnation), shape what happens by getting in touch with your purpose. This is lifestyle medicine because it’s good for your liver (in Chinese Medicine all diseases start in the liver). See more

17.01.2022 Qigong is currently one of the fastest growing practices around the world for health and well-being. Here's 9 Reasons Why...
16.01.2022 The Power of Qigong Many people who practice Qigong talk about how their energy levels improve, their sleep becomes more restful and their aches are lessened. T...he benefits vary greatly each person brings something different, whether it's physical problems that have taken years to develop or mental/emotional blocks that create inertia to healing. Qigong activates the body's natural rebalancing processes: Whatever is weak or out of balance will be brought to its healthy level. The same exercises can lower blood pressure in a person with hypertension, and raise it in a person with low blood pressure. Qigong's meditative movements, focused breathing and creative visualization techniques can deliver very obvious results in a short time, after learning only a few simple moves. The movements (which share similarities with T'ai Chi, a form of Qigong) actually net more benefits with much less exertion than many other forms of exercise. #qigong

11.01.2022 This week we are sending out our best wishes to Melanie as she continues her training with Master Simon Blow. After completing level 1 last year Mel has studied, completed assignments and her face to face training with dedication. At the training retreat this week Mel has an assessment to do (leading groups in front of Master can be daunting) but we know she will pass with flying colours! Enjoy the retreat Mel, from the Wyongah Qigong groups.
10.01.2022 thank you to all my past, present and future teachers. #grateful
09.01.2022 ASKING AND LEARNING You go to a teacher so you can ask questions. After all, that’s part of what makes learning from a real person better than trying to learn f...rom a book or video. You can ask for confirmation, you can engage in speculation, and you can see surprising opportunities to ask follow-up questions. I know the Chinese tradition is don’t ask questions. I think that’s unfortunate and often abused. But let me try to explain it anyway. The first consideration is the utter respect for a teacher that is drilled into us from the first dayand every day thereafter. The teacher has lofty knowledge and will reveal ideas in the proper sequence. Rather than engage in chatter, it’s said, we should concentrate on the digestible facts at hand. The second consideration is that the teacher may be pushing you toward the nonverbal. After all, if the Tao that can be told is not the constant Tao, then how can dialog reveal the ultimate? The third consideration is that many students use questions to smugly parade their own supposed knowledge, to deflect having to do what the teacher instructs, and to avoid the arduous daily effort of practice itself. Assuming that we address those points, then there is still a need to ask questions. Your teacher should be able to answer every one of them. In Chinese tradition, you have to ask to be taught. The teacher has to know that you’re both sincere and persevering. After that, you still have to ask to be taught at every meeting. As long as you do it properly, that’s the only way to learn.
08.01.2022 Fear can be contagious. Being surrounded by fearful people, fear-inducing news headlines, and losing the sense of control over our own lives is the perfect stor...m for a fear fest, and this is bad for our health. Fear is useful to avoid dark alleys, animals with big teeth etc, but if its ongoing it makes us weak, it is disempowering and hopelessness, confusion and anxiety will grow. Lifestyle medicine is the most powerful antidote because this is not the kind of fear you can suppress with alcohol or manage with drugs (pharmaceutical or recreational). Disengage from the media, live in a way that builds health and chi (chi cycle) and stay fiercely focussed on your personal direction. See more

04.01.2022 THE IRREPRESSIBLE SPRING You can’t stop a spring from bubbling up. It has to come out. I once went to the house of an architect who designed fancy homes for th...e wealthy. I expected him to live in a daring house with experimental features. Instead, it was a plain building on a hillsidebut it did have a challenge. Water seeped from the hill and ran through his basement at different times of the year. The architect had bought the house without checking much. His wife loved it, it was affordable, and he thought that he could redesign anything. He didn’t discover why the house cost far less than the surrounding ones until he was living in it. He tried to seal up the hillside, but that was futile. He tried different trenches and drains. That didn’t work either. Finally, he created a system of concrete ducts that led the water through the basement to the other side. He made his house into a bridge that spanned the watercourse. Some people think that they can dominate nature. It’s not possible in the long run. The lesson of climate change shows that. We are here to live from nature. The sooner we accept that, the more we can find what nature truly offers us.
