16.01.2022 Why should you do a First Aid course? Because you just never know what's around the corner.... One of our participants who attended our course a few days ago had to put her first aid skills into action today. Here is her account of the incident: "I was first on scene!... You would have been proud! Two gashes on his arms Rex grabbed towels from the boot. Pressure applied. Another man stopped and held his head still. Poor chap one arm bone looked exposed! He's going to have a beer with me when he's better ". Well done! This elderly man was lucky to have you there to attend to his injuries prior to Paramedics arriving. 12.01.2022 The JBCP Team completes First Aid Training Today our team from all three clinics came together to complete a First Aid & CPR Training Course. It was a full day ...of practical and theoretical learning which has provided our team with knowledge of first aid and how to respond in an emergency. Our staff hope never to have to use these skills, but are now prepared if they are needed. Thank you to Michelle Healey from Hands-On First Aid for a great day of training and to our Macarthur clinic supervisor, Danielle Fioramonte for organising and hosting the event.

07.01.2022 Shared from a beautiful friend of mine Some people are quick to label you a shitty friend with no clue how broken you are and instead of understanding, they just call the friendship quits. There are many people that have a night out planned, or arrange a coffee with friends and suddenly the 4 walls they inhabit seem the only safe haven because it's the only place they don't have to pretend they are ok, so they cancel. Or when they are invited out they tell their friends how ...terribly sorry they are but they're already booked up that weekend, when they are actually just really busy holding it together in their safe box. So the first problem starts, all by it’s self. People stop asking them out and the isolation that at first wasn't true becomes their only truth. Please don't give up on your friends. Ring them, go round, even when they don't want you to. I'm going to make a bet, without being pessimistic, that out of my Facebook friends that less than 5 will take the time to put this on their wall to help raise awareness for those who have mental health difficulties. Mental health affects everyone in some way. Just because they don’t talk about it doesn’t mean they don’t have their own daily challenges. Mental Health Awareness best medicine is KINDNESS
