24.01.2022 A job from last year. These are intersting as they are never designed with the fact thst lawns are never flat. And they always come with the most reficulously useless instructions how to erect them. So thay are a challenge and i love a challenge.

21.01.2022 Today's job. Gotta limit them to one a day, me thinks the lock down will go on a while and don't want to run out of things to do. Feed pipe from the cistern to the loo pan has had an annoying drip for far to many years. My patient wife has put up with a dog food tray under the loo for ages and ages. I can now remove the tray. Happy days

19.01.2022 Now I'm dragging the barrel. There is a more interesting job to finish in the garden but rain stopped play. So decided to level daughters art work hanging in the kitchen. Previously all three canvases where at very different levels. Now I'm a happy boy

19.01.2022 Its tricky working in this current climate. Trying to maintain social distancing and meet the needs for essential travel only. Ended up fitting a new extractor, hob and oven in an empty flat where a tenant is due to move into shortly. All 3 items had failed.

18.01.2022 Today's fix. No not a line of white powder!! Fixing the most important item in the garden. The wife's hammock. The frame was missing a strut,.gone walk about in the winter. Luckily I had tubing the right size for a replacement, and using an off cut from my daughters curtain pole for the joints (Knew it would be usrfull one day) managed to make a replacement strut. Happy wife. I'm on a roll.

18.01.2022 Really really dragging the bottom of the barrel. Sorted out the nut and bolt box. Can life get anymore exciting. During lock down probably not. And if course you gotta keep your nuts tidy.

15.01.2022 This is another job from last year. My client had an existing balcony in soft wood. She asked me if i could repaint it. When i started to look at it there was a lot of rotten timbers. It was a no brainer to replace it. She had a lot of oak around the house so it evolved into oak with structural glass balustrades. It's been left to age naturally rather than paint or treat. I had a good friend help me who is a time served carpenter. Every joint was tennoned and mortised by hand. Apart from the stainless steel fixings into the building all joints are pegged and glued.

15.01.2022 So running out of jobs I can do, due mainly due to the fact its so hard to get material's at the moment. Finally sucomed and decided to fit a light we bought in Marrakesh many many years ago. Which was one of those holiday purchases you regret buying before you've landed back home. Any way it now hangs in the porch. At least I've got a dozen or so browny points.

14.01.2022 So now I haven't got any work there is only one thing for it. Better do some jobs at my place. Starting with a long overdue repaint of the sash windows. This quickly turned into a repaint and repair as I had to replace the front of the window cill. Hope the rest do not follow suit. Ready for primer and then undercoat

12.01.2022 So day 5 of my window repaint, every window has given me an opportunity to do more than paint. I'm so lucky. I've had to dig out the morter between the frame and the wall as it had shrunk and was loose. But of course not one of the frames I could get to easily. It was the worst of the worst. After masking to protect the brick work and the frame I was perched one leg on the cill, one on my hop up and being steadied by a privet Bush up by back side. Living the dream. Or maybe living the nightmare is probably more accurate. Anyway managed to push lots of morter into the joint, now back to the painting.

10.01.2022 Yesterdays little joblet. Repair to the fence. Not very demanding but managed to do it from spare material in my garage.

08.01.2022 Like many hundreds of thausands of self employed im now unemployed. So im doing a deeeep clean through out the hose. Starting at the top and working my way down. I understand im not alone in this past time. You never know it might emerge as an olympic sport . One room a day gotta make it last.

05.01.2022 Yet another job that's been hanging around for far to long. I guess there is an upside to being locked down. Daughters stag antlers finally fixed. Yaaa.

03.01.2022 My client looooves her chickens. They already have a generous run. Have also most of last year been allowed into the back garden. Now they have desimated the garden they are still being allowed out. But into a confined area. As l only had to buy two bolts. We have traded eggs for the job. Happy days
