17.01.2022 Repair of an old fireplace flue hole which over time had begun to rot out due to a water leak. Amazingly, the owner had previously been told a simple fix was not possible as the shiplap timber is not made anymore, or that plastering the entire roof would be the only option for a neat finish. 10.01.2022 Being new to this social media caper, the best thing to post would be a few of our favorite jobs! This was the start of an entire inside makeover. First stop - removal of 4 large decorative fibro columns. These things were HEAVY! Unfortunately, the tiling was completed around the columns, exposing the concrete slab in the hall way - luckily there were just enough spare tiles from the original tiling (done in 2006!) to be able to fill the gaps. 08.01.2022 Following from yesterday's tiling post - the same hallway also recieved a complete make over with VJ panneling to 950mm, which was continued throughout the formal areas of the house. The walls were coated with textured paint in their previous life, so a full sand and finish was required to the upper half of the walls before the panneling could be installed. Dusty work! These were the real deal - old and weathered with paint and scratches from their previous life as a fence. Simple but effective feature wall. Also wanted was a matching hanging light fixture.
