25.01.2022 If you haven't seen our amazing new Standing Stones drop past and have a look! There are plans for a community-made mosaic at the base so they are not completely finished but congratulations to the strong team that got these beauties in place (you know who you are... :-) ). Our next Work Day is Sat 16th Nov from 8am - lunch provided - bring your tools, fabulous attitude and community spirit along and join us in keeping this wonderful place.... wonderful!

He deserves this recognition so much :-) Our bio for Barry: Barry Cumpstay has been involved with the Hall for 30 years and has been on the board of management as a member and chairperson for many of them. Barry... is currently a board member and assists in decision making and maintaining the energy and focus required for pro active development of an evolving and growing community space. His knowledge and experience in the Hall’s history, its management and his connection to a wide and diverse community makes the process of management easier and his wealth of knowledge is being passed on to the next generation of volunteers Barry Cumpstay has been fundamental to the construction of Hanging Rock Hall. His skills as a master builder and manager of workers as well as his constant provision of tools, knowledge and skill have been essential in the creation of the Hall. Having fantastic, willing volunteers is one thing however having an experienced overseer for quality control with knowledge of structural requirements has enabled the Hall to be built creatively in a manner that will stand the test of time. Hanging Rock Hall was recently listed as a Heritage building in Kyogle Shire which is a singular testament to Barry and all the volunteers' labour and vision. It is a unique building and involved many individuals’ creative inputs however Barry’s has been foundational to what the Hall has become. See more

17.01.2022 HANGING ROCK RURAL FIRE BRIGADE PUBLIC MEETING Hanging Rock Hall Saturday 9th November, 2019... ARE YOU PREPARED? Without significant rain over the next few weeks this area could be facing its worst fire season in 25 years. Hanging Rock Rural Fire Brigade will be holding a public information day at Hanging Rock Hall on Saturday November 9 at Midday. We will be offering assistance to make your Fire Plan, giving advice on any other preparations and covering potential evacuation plans in the event of a worst case scenario fire over the summer. All are welcome. Tell your friends and neighbours and bring them along. We will be making a presentation on preparing your Fire Plan and the decision to stay and defend your property or leave early. We will help with the identification of the potential risks and dangers of both options with maps and knowledge of potential fire activity to assist you in making your preparations. WHEN: Saturday November 9 2019. Presentation will start at 12:00 (we will be on site from 11 am 3 pm to answer questions and provide one on one assistance.) Lunch: There will be a sausage sizzle as well as Rural Fire Service information available for people to take home and use for ongoing reference material. WHERE: Hanging Rock Hall. 06.01.2022 Hello folks, our beautiful Hall has been a hive of activity over the past couple of months and I figured it was time for a little update . We were successful in receiving a couple of incredibly helpful grants that meant that while bookings and events were canceled due to Covid we could go about getting some major jobs done that have been in the pipelines for a while.... * Barry the Builder has completed the renovation of the indoor stage area with a stunning new hardwood he...xagonal floor * We have had two new rainwater tanks installed * The outdoor tables and benches have been dismantled and restored * The lead lighting for the back of the stage has been constructed * We had a big spring clean and the place is sparkling * Frank’s courtyard landscape garden planning has come to fruition with recycled bridge timbers and beautiful new plants going in last weekend All this has been made possible due to the great planning and care of the Wadeville Reserve Trust committee members and the invaluable help from a wonderful, dedicated community. A huge thank you to all those who have contributed to keeping our Hall a unique and special place for all to share.
