24.01.2022 TIP TUESDAY: Did you know that muscular tension is not only due to work and injury, but can also be as a result of long term emotional stress such as anxiety and fear? How? Well think about it. If you are anxious you will tense up. Which if your body is tense long term, the muscles will develop chronic tension. This is the same for horses. ... For horses that have muscle tension related to emotional stress, the brain needs to be relaxed in order for the muscular tension to be released. Thus, this is where relaxation massage comes in.

19.01.2022 It is a lovely day @sshoa_como_dressage Good luck to all riders and horses

18.01.2022 About: Hannah Kellert is a qualified Equine Sports Therapist, who was trained by the Australian College of Animal Tactile Therapy in Victoria. Hannah lives in Sydney New South Wales, and has been riding and working with horses for just over 10 years. Hannah is a complete Dressage enthusiast, who aims to ride at Olympic level.... Hannah’s horse, Heza Duke is the very reason Hannah helps the horses and owners she does today. Like a lot of horses, one of Heza Duke’s reoccurring issues was trigger points through his lower back. This pretty much means that he was quite sore through his lower back. The only problem was, no matter how many times the issue was treated the problem kept coming back. It was not until Hannah started to study the art of Equine Sports Therapy herself, that she found the secret. ‘You cannot just keep treating the symptoms, you have to treat the cause’. Thus, leading onto Hannah’s mission. Mission: Hannah’s mission is to help horses used for anything from leisure to high performance, to release tension and to prevent and reduce soreness. As muscular tension and soreness can dramatically reduce the horses performance, as well as cause significant discomfort impacting the wellbeing of our horses. Hannah hopes to fulfil her mission by not only offering her services, but through also offering to educate owners on signs of a horse in muscular discomfort, how to prevent muscle soreness as well as what they can do prior to, after and between treatments to ensure the best outcome for their horse! (A secret that solved Heza Duke’s reoccurring back pain!). If I knew what I know now when I first bought Heza Duke five years ago, I would have been able to improve his wellbeing and performance sooner! I just want to be able to share my knowledge with other owners to help their horses too! - Hannah Kellert
