17.01.2022 Boring parties... we've all been to them. The types of parties that just never really go anywhere. The uni party that these two were at may have been a bit slow going... BUT who knew that it would be the party where they would meet their future fiance?!... Sometimes you just never know what's around the corner.

17.01.2022 This is my Dad. One of the strongest men I know with the biggest heart. The Dad who would cry and hold us kids when we watched Father of the Bride at the thought of us growing up and getting married one day. The Dad who now has been the Father of the Bride himself - x2! (and yes there were still tears.)... The Dad who is the most encouraging person I know with an enthusiasm for life that made growing up buckets of fun! He always made time for us five kids no matter how crazy life was and to help us become the best humans we could. Always pointing us to the things that really matter most in life: God, family & integrity. Happy Father's Day to the best Dad I know! Love you Dad! (P.S. BUT there's times in your life where you need to be the one in front of the camera (ahem...weddings, engagements, new additions to the family etc). You know what? 11.01.2022 I nearly had to cancel this session. As I was driving to this maternity shoot I started to notice super heavy rain drops hitting my windscreen. The storm clouds that we thought would miss us spun around and emptied every last drop of rain they had left! It bucketed down. I'd left windows open in my house and came home to pools of water on the floor. Neighbours had tiles broken on their roof from tree branches that fell. I've never seen such a hectic storm right on a sessio...n start time. I had a back-up plan (I always do) BUT we were committed, so we sheltered and waited it out and my. oh. my...when it cleared, it was SO WORTH IT! We got muddy. Like really muddy. I don't think my shoes or this gorgeous Mumma's beautiful white dress will ever recover. Yet in the middle of it all, I was so blown away by these two. Their adventurous 'let's do this' attitude, their love for each other and their joy for their precious little girl who's soon to enter this crazy world. I watched as they talked to their precious bubba and savoured the quiet moments. If you're not sure whether a maternity session is for you: you only get once chance to do it. 03.01.2022 The barefoot wedding. John's Dad sadly passed away a year before John & Anita's big day...but it sounds like he was a legend! So in memory of him, John & Anita and their guests chose to go 'shoeless' after their ceremony (he always did everything barefoot). Running barefoot in the wet grass after the rain was the perfect tribute.... The way the sun came through the clouds in the afternoon (after pouring down rain all day) was spectacular...and these two commented that it was almost as if it were John's Dad saying to them that he was right there with them the whole time. This is what weddings are about. The meaningful moments. the remembrance of loved ones. The celebration of all things love and those who are forever in our hearts. See more

The family friend who dabbled in photography pulled out at the last minute and left them with a mad rush to find a photographer. If you're planning a wedding, you don't want that extra stress. 01.01.2022 To do a first look...or not to do a first look? For these two, it was such a special thing to do. I've never seen a groom so nervous & excited to see his beautiful bride! There was so much emotion in this moment (...even I was tearing up behind the camera!). Both the first look and traditional aisle entrance are just as beautiful and emotional. ... My advice: You choose whatever is more you.
