25.01.2022 Our Little Gardeners Through our gardening experience today Mr J and Miss A were able to show their growing appreciation and care for their environment alongside using play to explore , investigate and develop an understanding of the world in which they live in. They were bothe very inquisitive and eager to see the different seeds and to plant them into the soil. I was able to share with them about how growing these flowers we would be able to attract more bees and butt...erflies into our environment and therefore create a cycle of pollination and giving life to make our vegetables grow and help our nature around us to thrive. By modelling respect, care and appreciation for our environment it enables the children to also show that same respect , care and appreciation. We placed our plant pots next to some of our other flowers to get some sunshine After placing them there Mr J looked at them and said Wow , beautiful Miss Hannah I am looking forward to watching how the children take care and remember to water them, creating a sense of responsibility. Cant wait to check our seedlings over the next few weeks to see what transforms Have an amazing weekend everyone ! Miss Hannah
23.01.2022 A massive thank you and appreciation post to all of my families who have been so understanding over this week taking the time off to care for my little miss. It means the world to have the support of you all and I’m feeling very thankful ! Exciting news is that we will have our daycare photos next week to send home. I can’t wait for you all to see your gorgeous little ones faces
23.01.2022 ART - encourages children to think, developing skills and confidence as they go! I didnt grab a photo of the childrens creations finished before they were taken home but they were amazing We have had some sneaky little monsters hiding around Miss Hannahs and the children have spotted them on a few occasions telling me how they are hiding from the monster. The childrens imaginations really have flourished with this new excitement and they have embraced all aspects of ...sneaking up to capture photos on the play phones to show me proof that they have spotted the monster. Today our book of the day was- Barry the fish with fingers and the hairy scary monster, a favourite of the childrens with Miss Hannahs animated reading. After reading the book we decided that we could make our very own hairy scary monster. We brought out all sorts of recycled items , craft pieces , glue , Pom poms, lids and sticky tape and let our imaginations run wild. The children showed great focus, concentration and creativity making such cool monsters. Plenty of messy fun but so much love put into their creations. Miss S even decided to make a Pom Pom eating monster with a hole cut in his belly using a baby wipe lid that she could open and close. She was very proud of her creation and encouraged her friends to come and have a look and a turn of placing the Pom poms in. She was so excited to show her mum and dad her monster and about how clever her idea was, making sure to be extra careful with her Pom Pom eating monster around her baby brother. Mr J used three different sized lids and placed them inside one another making a wheel that he took over to the pram saying the wheel needed fixing. The children helped Miss Hannah in creating a large hairy scary monster that the children each took turns in feeding Pom poms, the monster would make some funny chomping and burping sounds as the children fed him and the giggling and smiles from the children were so beautiful. Miss Hannah will be hiding our monster (who we are yet to name) around the house for the children to find and I look forward to what extends from it. Maybe over the weekend you can create something out of recycled items and really see your childrens creative imaginations flourish. Ask them to show you and tell you all about the creations they have made .... Feel free to post some pictures of what your little ones or big ones create Wishing you all a wonderful weekend filled with many smiling happy moments ! Miss Hannah
23.01.2022 What a perfect rainy day for a teddy bear picnic and movie day To help Mr J settle in this morning as he has been missing his buddy Mr A this week. I asked what he would like to watch for our movie day today and his reply was Super Wings The children went between watching the movie Madagascar - chosen by the children. Making shapes with the peg boards and rubber bands, shape pieces , magnetic tiles and builders and connectors. ... It was also a perfect opportunity for Miss Hannah to catch up on some paperwork while the children happily enjoyed a relaxing day. They feel very few and far between so it was a wonderful change
22.01.2022 House full of ladies today. With some of our other children away it left only two of our friends for the day. Miss R had some beautiful requests of what we should do today with one being painting our feet. I love it when the children come up with the best ideas for experiences. Miss R and Miss A helped pick out the colours they wanted to use and I drizzled them into the tray ready for their feet painting. Lots of descriptive words like slippery and slimy were used when sq...uishing their toes into the paint. Miss A was most excited that a bucket of water was involved for her to be able to wash her feet after. Miss R spotted that she was a little wobbly getting into the bucket and offered her arm to help hold her so that she wouldnt fall over. When it was Miss Rs turn to wash her feet Miss A also offered assistance so that she wouldnt fall over, such beautiful teamwork and problem solving knowing what they needed to do to help. We continued the painting process by adding brushes and both girls painting their hands and doing handprints on their paper while also painting some monsters on the page. They spent a large majority of time at this painting experience before heading to the bike and car for some races down the hill, taking turns and counting to ready, set, go! Inside we put on some Emma Wiggle to do some dancing to. Miss R showed us some ballerina dancing moves and we did our best to keep up without falling over. I think we need to put on a dancing show to showcase our amazing moves. In every experience and moment had with each of the children in my care, it makes me so much more grateful knowing that I can make a difference and that I get to experience the joy of each and every single day with them. I love what I do and wouldnt t change it for the world Have a happy day everyone and I hope you find something that makes you smile today ! Miss Hannah
21.01.2022 A huge happy birthday to Mr S for tomorrow! We had a party day today filled with balloons, dancing, singing happy birthday and of course Cake ! A few snippets of other things we got up to over the week also. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, Miss Hannah
21.01.2022 Dear Miss Hannahs families, In light of the return of ccs you will need to ensure your income details are up to date by June 30 to continue to receive ccs. Will be a good idea to also check how many hours you are entitled to and if any changes need to be made to hours just let me know. Please speak to me if needing different hours of care or any more information. If I am unsure of any answers I will find out for you and get back to you. I thank you for your patience and kindness as we navigate our way through the next steps. Thank you Miss Hannah x
20.01.2022 Some updates from last week ..... A little behind in the catching up but we had so much fun last week We had some incredible Homemade Jam brought in my Miss S and I can tell you it was the best strawberry jam I have ever had The children helped to make some pikelets which we then spread the jam onto. So so very delicious ! Colour sorting bowls and the coloured fruit were a popular activity last week along with our felt creation boards. Some painting amongst it all , tea p...arties , puzzles and some outdoor play. Mr A has been so interested in the wheres Wally books that we have been able to do some tough searching and the children have such great memory with being able to locate Wally and all the other characters. Miss S also brought in our new calendar so that we can learn our days of the week, months , seasons and even about how we are feeling. Very thankful. Magnetic tiles were a huge hit with Miss R building some garages for all of her friends and also baby wearing the dolls as they were sick little bubbas Mr J proved his memory skills with knowing so many of his shapes doing the shape puzzle and the colours of our sorting bowls. Amongst it all we also had a fire drill that Mr J was keen to tell his mum and dad about having to go to Todds Shed I think a highlight of his week ! Stay tuned this afternoon/night to see what adventures we got up to today ! Hope you all had a fabulous weekend and an amazing week , Miss Hannah
20.01.2022 Morning families , As you may well be aware, the childcare package will be ending midnight on the 12th of July and as of the 13th ccs will be recommencing. This means that invoices with gap fees will also recommence and fees will need to be paid. Please feel free to chat with me regarding any issues in paying fees forward from this date or regarding any questions. Thank you so much for your care and understanding throughout this crazy time. Miss Hannah
20.01.2022 Mud Play Me: What does the mud feel like on your feet and between your toes ? Miss A : Like sausages .... Me: I had the best belly laughs , some of the things the children say just have me in stitches and it makes me smile so much ! ... Mr J got right into his mud play and ended up falling forward into the mud , he was a little concerned of all the mud over his clothes for a minute but I said mud will wash out go for it. There was no stopping him then He loaded up the trucks with mud and brought them to the big dirt patch we have in the yard that will be becoming something super special and a watch this space ! We had mud all over our playground after playing so the children helped to hose it down and slid down the slide washing the mud off. Inside was creating some really tall towers with the magnetic tiles as well as some beautiful reading of books. These two love their books and are real little book worms, it is so lovely to watch them take themselves to a quiet place and share in the stories together. Miss A also went through our feeling for the calendar this morning showing me all the different faces she could make. I hope you have enjoyed the amazing weather today and have had smiles as big as these guys today Miss Hannah
19.01.2022 Doctor play, Painting our Monsters from our imaginative play this morning of monsters chasing us. Puzzles. Cars with the car mat, taking care of the babies and helping Miss Hannah with some laminating for our new children signing in activity
18.01.2022 BEE SILLY , BEE HONEST, BEE KIND As an educator I am forever learning new and interesting things and today did not disappoint...... While sitting at the table having morning tea a conversation was had about the picture of the bee on Miss Ss custard. ... Miss S: Miss Hannah, did you know that bees make honey. I do. Me: wow, how do they do that Miss S ? Miss S: They suck up little ants and they turn it into honey and then they turn it into real honey! This prompted some further researching and investigating to make sure I had the correct information for the children on how bees create honey as I thought I had a fair idea but wasnt I mind blown ! After learning more about the process I put it to the children to explain all that we had learnt. Me: Who can tell me now about how honey is made ? Mr J: From flowers. Me : That is where the process starts isnt it Mr J, what comes after that? Miss S : They suck up the honey (nectar) from the flower into their stomach. They vomit into another bee (vomit motion and lots of giggling). They put it into their little container and then flap their wings to get all the water out and then its honey. Me: Excellent remembering ! After the honey is made, special bee keepers are able to retrieve the honey and then process it into jars for us to eat. MrJ: I eat honey on my sandwich. I definitely did not know this process of regurgitating the nectar from one processor bee to another so that the enzymes can break the sugars down and bring the nectar closer to the honeycomb for storage. We extended and used bubble wrap to paint our beehives and added some bees around before painting some pop top bottles as a bee that will later be hung up in our room. Such clever little bee makers I hope you all enjoyed that little lesson for your Friday! We have had some amazing experiences with this week being national science week. Activities and learning about our ocean and pollution, science week theme this year was Deep Blue: innovation of the future of our oceans. Ive seen the children be fully invested and empathetic towards the sadness of pollution in our ocean and it has been really heartwarming knowing that they want to help in every way they can. Our plants have been thriving and our beans are almost ready to be planted out for our bean teepee. Ill post some updates of earlier in the week but for now Ill leave it with our interesting finding on bees. Plus the incredibly adorable photo that was requested while the children all enjoyed some story time. I love my job Have a beautiful weekend Miss Hannah
18.01.2022 Sometimes it’s the little things in life that are truly the biggest things Today we witnessed something magical! We spotted the chrysalis this morning had changed colour and it looked like our butterfly was almost ready to appear! The children checked it often over the morning to see if they could catch it emerging. After some busy moments of play we headed in for some morning tea and continued to talk about our caterpillars and the one Miss Hannah has spotted yesterday.... Miss Hannah’s lovely coordinator arrived and when telling her about what we had seen she happened to have a look and a butterfly was on the branch !!! We ran out to see and our butterfly had magically appeared out of the chrysalis. The children were able to identify the colours on the butterflies wings and we spoke about how their wings had to dry and become strong before it could fly away to find food. We continued to watch the butterfly over the day and the other cocooons to see if any of the others would surprise us. The butterfly had flown off while the little ones were sleeping and we kept an eye out to see if we could spot it flying by. Melissa helped the children to find Wally in our Where’s Wally book with Mr A showing her his excellent finding skills and her learning a little about all the different characters to find. She also played some baby shark tunes for Miss A , Miss H and Miss R to play the musical instruments too. Some really beautiful and very loud music playing! This lead to some dancing music a little later with our skeleton bones song - Shake ya booty as Miss A calls it Our book week characters today were : A polar bear - The bear who went BOO! Construction worker- Colossal Machines Wanda - Where’s Wally We also had Elsa, old MacDonald , more construction workers and even superheroes using our dress ups. Such a beautiful day, hope you all had a fabulous day also. Miss Hannah

15.01.2022 Just a freiendly reminder we have photo day Tuesday and Friday this week
13.01.2022 Under 5s Day On Thursday we had the opportunity again to be involved in some community involvement from afar by participating in our very own simultaneous Under 5s Day. The children each made their very own nature hunt container using our recycled egg cartons before setting off on an adventure to find our nature treasures. The children all worked together to help everyone find all of the items they had pictures of in their cartons and once we found all the items everyon...e sat down to show each other what they had found. We also participated in making our very own light lantern for child protection week. They chose the items they wanted to use to decorate it being glitter and some textas, the children worked together to tape up the frame ready for the lantern to go over the top. We had some very special packs also to send home with some amazing helpful resources inside. One of the information packs inside was some games and information on things you can do with your child to help develop their brain, memory and play skills. We played the Whats gone? game and the children really surprised me with how clever they were at engaging, focusing and remembering what toys were missing. Each child then took turns to pick out a toy to hide from their friends to guess. This provided a sense of responsibility and task achievement of being able to hide the toy and keep their friends guessing. They loved this game so much that they asked for it again after our afternoon tea ! Another wonderful day of having the opportunity to be involved with such a beautiful community who really values inclusion of all educators and care roles making a difference in our childrens lives !! Thank you again for stopping by to check out our page Miss Hannah
13.01.2022 Miss Hannah was lucky enough to be involved in our local communities simultaneous Under 8s day yesterday but with a difference. I was approached by the lovely Alison Moore who is our local community engagement and transitions teacher to see if we wanted to join in and be involved. Due to some Covid restrictions this year it was planned in new way of having an opportunity for being involved but on a different level with the concept of Together but apart We had some finger ...painting and nature face collage using some playdough and even some fresh mint picked from our very own veggie garden along with some of the home grown fruit and veggies. It was so lovely chatting to the children letting them know that some of the other ECEC and the LDSS were doing some of these same activities. A very special way to have some community engagement. Thank you for allowing us to get involved! NQS. 6.2.3 Community Engagement The service builds relationships and engages with its community. NQS. 3.2.3 Environmentally Responsible The service cares for the environment and supports children to become environmentally responsible. Have an amazing weekend ! Miss Hannah
13.01.2022 A little behind the scenes with my gorgeous little helper This beautiful girl is the reason behind Miss Hannahs FDC and having her help in creating and setting up activities for her friends and always saying mummy, I help you is truly the most beautiful and loving helping hand that I could ask for, it fills my heart with so much love. Knowing she is watching on and eager to always help makes me incredibly proud. So much behind closed doors work goes on that I think a... lot of people may not realise as does with many educators I know, of course I understand it goes on in so many other professions too but I can only speak on behalf of being an educator myself. Even after the days are done and the children head off home for their afternoon routines with their families, all the cleaning and creating still goes on for endless hours of the afternoon in preparation for the next days children and experiences. Then like you also at home it moves onto the routines of mum/dad life and this includes but is definitely not limited to dinner, bath, bed, cleaning up routines. Ive been so very blessed to have this opportunity to create love and care in our own home and to have my gorgeous girl with me each and every day. Thank you so much to my families who make it all happen and so amazingly worthwhile. I hope you know and love how much I truly try my best to create an amazing loving space for you and your children each and every day. A huge shout out to all those who work behind the scenes getting it done with no clock off time at the end of the day, only another shift of a different kind. Thoughts are with all those doing the hard yards each and every day and whether that be running on little to no sleep , missing your children, working endless hours or adjusting to new normalities. Take care of yourselves and reach out for help when you need it! Miss Hannah
13.01.2022 Celebrating Indigenous Culture Through Play This week our behind the play focus is the above. Today we did this through connection to our environment. This is a big part of indigenous culture and something that many families already may do and not even realise the familiar connection it has and how you could strike up simple conversations and bring awareness to inclusion of cultural diversity. Children who have a relationship with nature are more inclined to become ad...ults who are invested in protecting it- nature play. Protecting the environment is something the indigenous community do incredibly well and is something we strive to do here. Today we took some moments to connect with nature and did this through things like barefoot play, drawing some indigenous symbols in the dirt with sticks and some garden and rock exploration. Barefoot play is so important for a variety of different reasons, one being the connection to our environment and gaining a feel and understanding about some of the indigenous culture. Another great reason is that it helps to develop a sense of body awareness. Feet and toes are jam packed with nerve endings and allow us to feel the ground beneath us. Being barefoot gives the children an opportunity to gain full sense of where their body is and how they can move safely and negotiate their environment. When children are able to explore their environment barefoot, they are then able to use the sensory pathways that promote healthy and functional movement patterns. Being barefoot strengthens the feet and body due to being able to easily move the muscles in our feet and toes. It also helps in improving safety, Eg. If walking along a rocky surface the children are able to quickly adjust to a slow pace and look for a more stable surface. Being barefoot brings a heightened awareness of surroundings and the ability to react. It provides a direct connection to our natural environment and is not only good for our feet, but does wonders for our physical development and social and emotional health and wellbeing. Hope you have all had a wonderful day enjoying this amazing weather ! Miss Hannah
12.01.2022 What an absolutely wonderfully educational book. Its age appropriate for so many different ages with the rhyming, wording and illustrations but more importantly it provides all children with a clear, informative and empowering message about body ownership and body safety. I highly recommend this book to anyone with children. I wish they could provide all childcare/schools with this brilliantly written book. I do believe it is something that needs to start within a safe envi...ronment first and having conversations with your children about their rights to privacy and how to protect their bodies. This book is a great tool in being able to prompt questions , clarification, engaging children while gently introducing critical information they and yourselves need to know. The power of parents is so incredibly resourceful in being able to spread the word and this is why I would like to ask that you help in sharing this amazing resource. Our children deserve to be empowered and the ability to be protected against sexual abuse. If Only For Me was shared with 25 parents on social media , statistically, through this simple act you could be dramatically impacting the lives of 5 children that were due to experience abuse before their 18th birthday. If you can share or even grab a copy for yourself in hope of being able to shift the power and protect our precious children please do so and if you are not too sure please feel free to reach out to myself. I am more than happy to loan it out of you need or give you more information. Together I believe we can make a difference and protect our precious children. Only For Me #onlyformeprotects #onlyformeempowers
12.01.2022 The end of the week I always get a little forgetful one posting our what we got up to over the days so here are a few photos from last week .... One of our families donated some ribbon and some cardboard scrapbooking cutouts. These were utilised in some painting and gluing craft. Doctor play with the dolls using some old bandaids. Smoothie making , although we missed out on the pineapple one we had planned, we will try again for a pineapple smoothie. Magnetic chips and the magic wand as the children call it and some builiding of robots . A change around to the playroom to provide some more space areas for the children to play and so many more amazing moments over the week but here is just a snippet.
11.01.2022 I love watching how all our friends in different ways create a space for belonging with our sweet little ones and each other. Miss H needed a few extra cuddles and help in playing today, her beautiful sister and friends were more than happy to lend a hand Wheres Wally was back again this week with some colouring pictures also added. Miss R requested dress ups out today and we had princesses, pirates , way too cool bunnies and even some fairies. Mr A was able to cre...ate an amazing train track while the girls were busy with dress ups and he was as so very proud of his achievement. A special delivery came on the back of trucks for across the road today ready to build a new house. All the children were very intrigued on what was on the back of the truck so we looked up some house frames to show them what it will look like as they put them together. The truck did some reversing and with that came the loud beeping that the children pretended to run away from. Lots of checking on the truck and its progress throughout the day. At the end of the day the postman delivered a parcel with our Connetix ! Miss Hannah was lucky enough to have entered and won a competition and the prize was a 62 piece connetix set. Mr A and Miss A were over the moon and spent the rest of the afternoon building and creating some incredible structures. One very awesome shed was built using them by Mr A. Another wonderful day! Miss Hannah

08.01.2022 Magnetic Tiles The children have been really engaged in the magnetic tiles this week. So many creative imaginations among them with different structures being built for cars, babies and doctors. The children even made jumps for the cars to jump over and buildings to knock over with a Thor hammer we created out of stickle bricks. Our sustainability practices this week were using some old CDs for craft. The children picked out the cotton buds to use to paint the cds... with. We spoke about how they make a rainbow with the reflection of shining in the sun and have the perfect spot for them to be placed to shine. We had the laptops out for the children to do their work on, this was extended on due to Miss Hannah doing some work on her risk assessments at rest time and the children wanting to be involved. They helped to come up with some of the risks and hazards in the yard. They also exchanged with each other what veggies they had in their gardens at home. Keeping up with our implementing sustainability into our practices, instead of the children throwing out the banana peels we have been saving and adding them to a jar of water. This sits for a couple of days and is then used to water the plants and once finished watering we then can add the peels to the compost. If you havent done this for your plants, definitely get onto it! It has done wonders for all of the plants here and they have started new shoots coming up everywhere. From someone who could never keep plants alive to now having thriving plants its helped immensely, so give it a try ! Hope you all have had a fantastic day! Miss Hannah
08.01.2022 A reminder to all families to be vigilant and ensuring you are all keeping safe and taking extra precautions where you can to keep each other and our environment safe here at Miss Hannahs FDC. If you are feeling unwell or showing any of the signs or symptoms please follow our COVID-19 guidelines and stay home. We want to eliminate the risks as much as we can. Feel free to reach out with any questions as I know this time can cause high anxiety for some and I am more than happy to offer help in any way I can. The same high standards of health and hygiene practices are implemented to help keep our environment a safe and happy place for all Stay Safe x
07.01.2022 How beautiful was our day today We lapped it up (haha no pun intended ) and headed outdoors to enjoy the beautiful sunshine and fresh air. The children indoors were racing each other around the lounge room and Miss S suggested we take the horses with us outside for races. How adorable are these riders ! Loved how the friends who werent racing cheered their friends on from the sideline, great encouragement! Our day also consisted of some shape painting , shape thread...ing and shape tracing. The children are really thriving through shape play and surprising me every day with how fast they are learning the shapes We hope you all have had a wonderful day ! Miss Hannah

04.01.2022 A little more on the quiet side today and relaxed with some shape finding and tracing after spotting the shape play-dough cutters and reading our shape book. Colouring our Rainbow Serpent in after watching the Dreamtime story book on YouTube. Mr J was so clever and was able to even find the rainbow piece that looked the same as the sand hill marking on the Rainbow Serpent. Playing and building with the magnetic tiles We have a party day tomorrow for one of our friends celebrating their birthday on the weekend !

03.01.2022 Dress ups were requested this morning by Miss R and all the children showed plenty of enthusiasm and excitement about getting the dress ups out for the day. Plenty of self help skills and confidence boosting along with some patience and turn taking. Monsters were still a hot topic today so the children added some matchsticks, recycled lids, eyes and pipe cleaners to create their monsters. Mr A even building a fence out of the matchsticks. Mr A asked if he could paint a ...monster truck for dad. We got out the paints and each of the children chose the colours of the paper they wanted to paint on. Lots of kind sharing and communication as some of the children wanted to use the same colours and with only one paintbrush for each colour they were able to communicate to their friends that they would like a turn next. After painting on the paper we spotted some leftover bubble wrap in the cupboard and the children brought it out to start popping the bubbles. Miss A took her straight over to start paint ring and soon the other children did also, a great form of texture exploring and plenty of fun for Mr S who wanted to ensure all of the bubbles were popped. An excellent fine motor activity that is great for building and strengthening all those muscles. Lastly but most of all not least ..... Our Tree house ! The children were all very interested in exploring the different levels and items that were on our tree house. The swing was used with all the different people, cars and even plastic bugs had a turn. We built a train tack the whole way around the tree house and added in some shops, trees and road signs. The children used the houses for the wooden people to sleep in and hide from the rain. So beautiful to see how the children each contributed to adding something different and creative in their own way. I cant wait to see what eventuates from having this resource. Our story book today was Big Rain Coming We did manage to get outside for a quick run around and play to get our bodies moving. Wasnt a super long play outside today as the wind could have nearly blown us away it was that strong at times. It was still lovely to get outside to enjoy some fresh air though. Hope you have all had an amazing day! Miss Hannah
03.01.2022 Miss Hannahs puppy dogs have a very special place in all of the childrens hearts Miss A loves her puppies and is always requesting to have them engaged in play. Mr J was so excited and happy they came up to the veranda for a play. Mr S is still a little hesitant and likes to be held when around (as would I being a little one around large dogs- they are such big boofs too). So in aid of helping Mr S build some trust and confidence around the dogs we brought them up to the ...veranda but kept the glass doors closed for interactions with them. He giggled and ran back and forth calling out doggie, as the dogs would come closer to the door Mr S slowly grew more and more confident moving closer to soon touching the door while the dogs pushed their noses and paws on the door. His smiles and giggles grew louder and wider with each entrusting moment. As his relationship and confidence builds with the dogs we can slowly add more interactions when he is comfortable and in a way that is most calming to him. For now interactions through the doors and fence will be our main focus and allowing Mr S more moments to gain trust and confidence with his interactions Outside day before the wind had picked up and plenty of ball throwing, catching , rolling and kicking. The children drew circles on the whiteboards outside and were very impressed with themselves. Bluey was on this morning and Miss A was super happy doing her bluey dance and not long later her song as she calls it came on and she gathered her friends around to sing ! A busy day from us all here at Miss Hannahs See more
02.01.2022 More butterfly magic today We had two butterflies make their entrance today !!! What a spectacular event to help settle some emotions this morning with a huge WOW After printing off a large picture and laminating it, the children inspected the picture telling me all about the colours they could see and the different markings on the butterflies wings. What better way to showcase some of the children’s visual perception skills than with some portrait painting of our butte...rfly. Lots of concentration and checking back and forth with our picture to make sure they showcased the butterfly well. We added some cotton tips into the white paint to help create the white markings of the wings, and paintbrushes for the black and the green. Everyone did so well in asking for turns of the green paint as we only had the one paintbrush, a great sneaky sharing and communication invitation that went super well. How incredible did the children do with their representations of their butterflies !!! We ended the day on some inquiry into WHY it rains Love that the children keep me learning each and every day! Next week we will be having some weather experiments and learning about how it rains. I think it’s fitting with the forecast of what is ahead The children were excited that Miss Hannah’s tanks were getting full with the rain although they do love having the water delivery truck arrive. Our book week characters today were : Doubke the ‘Where’s Wally’ and ‘The very hungry caterpillar’ Hope you all have had a fabulous day , Miss Hannah
02.01.2022 Shapes Learning all about shapes and numbers in ways through play ! Shapes is a focus this week with the children now spotting all different shapes around their environment.
