17.01.2022 Monday Musings Quit punishing yourself with exercise. Making yourself fitter, stronger and healthier is NOT a punishment. You don't have to work off the junk food you ate. You have to work on a better system of eating that allows you to not feel deprived, and have the occasional treat. You also need to work on understanding why you're reaching for the junk food in the first place... You're actually an amazing person! Your body is amazing simply for the fact that it is a human body with so many complex systems keeping you alive, constantly. You're also a person with a heart and a mind which only builds on that amazing-ness. The sooner you realise that and start to believe it, the better. Fat loss is not the only option for you. Try new things, and HAVE FUN!!! Do whatever you like! Try Zumba, CrossFit, Powerlifting, Skydiving, Ice skating, Trail running - whatever! Life is WAAAAY too short to stress about dress sizes and cellulite. Nothing that goes on within your body has anything to do with anybody else. Your body size, reproductive status, job / salary, relationship status, whatever, is nobody's business but yours. Be proud of yourself! It doesn't matter how much progress you make, so long as you're making progress. 14.01.2022 It's been a while since I posted, so I'm just going to make the decision to have a bit of a break from social media. Yes, everything is fine. The reasons why I'm having a break is because: 1) I have no interest in forcing myself to think if content to create for you, just so I can stay in your feed. I refuse to post something for the sake of posting something just to appease algorithms.... 2) I'm just a bit over social media right now. With the world in it's current state, I feel like all I'm seeing is conspiracy theories, people arguing and people not coping. Maybe that is the exact reason I should be staying on and sharing whatever positive content I do share, but I think logging off and encouraging others to do the same so they can swim to the surface for some fresh air and sunshine in a slightly more analogue world is going to reap more benefits for people. Social media is not bad, it's not the enemy, it's just sad that we get so absorbed by it and it can impact us negatively. So, if you're sick of it too, log out. It might last for 2 days, it might last for 2 months Only you can be the judge of what's best for you. I'm going to enjoy not looking at a tiny screen in a hunched position that encourages bad posture. Peace out homies

10.01.2022 Online training is a wonderful thing! I'm so glad that I was introduced to it about four years ago. Little did I know how my team would benefit from it in years to come! When I talk to people about online training they're always skeptical, it always seems like such a foreign concept. But in reality, it's been around for years in different forms. You know those butt blasting workouts you'd find in magazines (and still do)? That's kinda like online training! And those celebrity... trainers who started off with beach body training plans you'd download or get emailed to you? That's another form of online training So... what's the deal with my form of online training? Why not just get an app or follow an influencer? Because with my kind of online training, you get me (your trainer) in your pocket. I program specifically for you and your goals, which means if you have an injury or something different going on in your body, we can use suitable exercises to get you results without hurting you. I upload your workouts into my app so you can access them anytime, anywhere And even though I'm not there in person, you don't have to worry about if you're moving correctly, because my app comes complete with a rather huge database of exercise instruction videos. And if you're still not sure, you can send me a video of you doing the movement and I can give you extra help and pointers "I need someone there in person to make me do the workout, I don't know if I'll do it if you're not there with me." True, valid point. That is absolutely correct for a very small percentage of people. But regardless of whether or not you fall into that small percentage, you're an adult so if you actually WANT to make changes to your life, you'll find a way. One of those ways will be talking to me about how you struggle and discussing things we can try. And don't forget - I see every workout you complete and miss. If you miss workouts, guess who's gonna message ya #me So by all means, in this time of isolation & quarantine get your workouts however you need to. 04.01.2022 Many thanks to Ian and the team at @crossfit_navitas for a great session this morning! It's always such a good feeling to get moving again while on holiday, although I have a sneaking suspicion that I'll be walking like a baby giraffe tomorrow after all those front squats If anybody is in Dublin (Kimmage), make sure you head here for a fun session and welcoming team!
03.01.2022 A lot of you already know that I had my daughter a few months back, but I keep forgetting to tell people I'm on maternity leave I'm sure I'm not the only new Mum who's a bit forgetful! I'm not 100% sure when I'll be taking on new clients in the New Year, it all depends on how things go with Chloe. My priority right now is my family, and making sure my current team members are being looked after (honourable mention to my current team - they are VERY gracious towards this ...sleep deprived new Mum!) If you want more info on training, feel free to make contact but please don't be offended if I say "not yet" Happy Holidays everyone!
