We support Kobe and his wonderful family by providing nurses in their home 2-3 days a week. Since meeting him over a year ago, we've learnt so much about Kobe like his love for playdoh, tractors, musical instruments, and of course his very special Papa Happy birthday to you Kobe, we wish you a fantastic day!

21.01.2022 #dads Saturday night was our very first Dad’s Only Dinner and if the great feedback is anything to go by, it will be one of many more to come! The Dads went off to Blasta Brewing Company with Board Directors Martin, Addy and Mitch. The venue and staff were fantastic and treated the crew to a behind-the-scenes brewery tour and of course some taste testing.... Dads said they really enjoyed the chance to meet each other, talk about their children and families and share their highs and lows. As we all understand, mums are often the primary caregivers and dads can sometimes be forgotten. Dads are our quiet achievers and we can’t thank you enough for the support, care and love you share for your children. Big shout out and thanks to Blasta staff a recommended experience. #hannahshouseperth #perthdads
20.01.2022 #kindfulmonday Sometimes we think we need to make a grand gesture - having time to go out for a day, throwing a dinner party or clearing space in our busy schedule before we catch up with people. When a simple phone call, a text or just a quick cuppa is all the other person needs to feel connected and cared for. Why not forget the grand plans and best intentions and just reach out now, today with a simple act of kindness and caring? We know our families really appreciate our ...Clinical team being there for them and just checking in. Chances are your family and friends will appreciate your thoughtfulness too . . #hannahshouseperth #bekind #kindnessmatters #stayconnected #randomactsofkindness #simplethings #kindnessquotes #KahlilGibran See more

Despite these challenges Scarlett is a joyous girl, an amazing d...aughter to Kate and Marcus, and loving sister to Sophie. Here are some photos of Scarlett’s pre-birthday celebrations with her friends Cooper the Trooper and Celebrating Nate We hope you have a wonderful day, Scarlett! Last week some of our team enjoyed a visit to Perth Zoo with Alexis, Kobe, Anthony, Madi and their families. Beautiful days like these remind us how much we love what we do.

15.01.2022 Hannah's House would like to send a huge thank you to everyone involved in the Royal Perth Golf Club Women's Charity Day Committee High Tea and Fashion Parade held Sunday 30th August. What an amazing afternoon organised by the Committee led by President Vicky and the wonderful Kerry who nominated Hannah's House to be their 2020 Beneficiary. It was a great event attended by 170 ladies all happy to be out and about after all the recent restrictions. There was a fun buzz in the ...room and we appreciated our Board Chair Anne McCormack being about to share a few words with the guests about Hannah's House and our new Playtime Play Therapy program, which proceeds from the fundraising will support. We were joined by our Founding Director Jacky Vigurs (Hannah's mum) and her daughter Tess along with our new and first CEO, Jonine Collins who will commence at Hannah's House in late September. A special thanks to everyone at the Royal Perth Golf Club who made it such a special afternoon and to Mariko South Perth Boutique in Mends Street for organising the fashion show with some great ladies from the club strutting up the runway! 14.01.2022 It's #StaffSpotlight time, starring the lovely Charlotte A valuable member of the Hannah's House family, let's get to know her better! Position: Registered Nurse and just recently Clinical Nurse too! What do you do for Hannah’s House?... I work mostly night shifts with some amazing kiddies that give me lots of cuddles and laughs. I've also just started working one day a week in the office looking at our policies. Special skills and experience? I've spent most of my nursing career working either in ICU or in Regional WA. Palliative Care is probably the area of nursing that I'm most passionate about though, and that's the area that I have done most of my postgraduate study in. What are your hobbies? Almost anything that involves my puppy and my new husband! Spending time in nature or doing yoga is my kind of self love And I ALWAYS love going home to New Zealand and spending time with my family. What would you sing at karaoke? I wouldn't be cruel enough to put anyone through that, but if one day someone discovers a cure for tone deafnesses, it would be anything Country. What was your favourite subject in school? As a raging extrovert, I loved any subject where I wouldn't get into trouble for talking too much. Probably sport studies. Do you have a motto spoken or unspoken? Hmm not really a motto but I've been channelling my inner Brene Brown recently so maybe, 'Live a Life defined by Courage, Compassion and Connection'. Although, as a Type 7 on the Enneagram and someone who has an allergic reaction to saying no, I think my life motto should be 'You can do anything, but not everything' What celebrity would you like to meet for coffee? I'd have coffee with Brene Brown, Jacinda Ardern or David Attenborough any day!
11.01.2022 One of the must-visit places of these school holidays is definitely the WA Museum Boola Bardip! With so many exhibits filled with coloured lights, interesting sounds and interactive games, it was a great experience for our children and families. Take a look at all our adventures from a special day here!

03.01.2022 #togethertime #couplestime #timeout One of the things we love to do at Hannah’s House is support the whole family and make sure that parents can enjoy some much need #metime. Last weekend we were able to support Courageous Life of Riley parent’s Joy and Ben to have their first weekend away since Riley was born seven years ago. It was their wedding anniversary also wanted to attend ‘Dinner For Dreams’, the Conductive Education Charity of Western Australia's (CEWA Foundation) m...ajor fundraiser to support children with neurological disorders and allied special needs. Joy said that between appointments, Ben’s FIFO and Riley’s 24/7 care needs, they find it hard to find time to be a couple. But they had the best weekend and we are so happy we could support them and the lovely Riley to give them this time together. Joy writes ... A weekend away from the kids, especially Riley, isn’t something we could plan a week or 2 in advance. There is so much involved plus time for staff to get to know Riley and his complex care needs. At the beginning of the year, Hannah’s House recruited some amazing support workers and nurses to Team Riley. They help him to attend school 4 days a week and provide one nightshift a week when Ben’s away at work. It was at that time we also discussed the possibility of a weekend away for the biannual ‘Dinner for Dreams’ fundraiser (supports CEWA at Riley's school). It also happened to be on the weekend of our wedding anniversary. Fast forward 9 months and we were off for the long-awaited weekend with full confidence that Riley would be in the best care. Riley received round-the-clock care with his support workers during the day, who handed over to his nurse for the nightshift. They took care of his complex needs and knew all his cheeky little quirks and ways of telling them when he likes something or not, if he's uncomfortable and what he needs when. Supporting our family definitely takes a village. Poppy (Granddad) drove Riley and his support worker Sarah to his OT session on the weekend, and his 2.5 year old sister Zoe was kept entertained by Grandy & Yai, who kept her topped up with her favourite snacks, and playing dress ups. We are so grateful to Hannah's House and our family for making this happen for us. We loved the time we got to spend together, reconnecting and relaxing, which is beneficial for the whole family. Coming home and seeing how happy the kids were was evidence of the level of love and care they felt while we were away. Soo Thankful. " #hannahshouseperth #respitecare #respite
02.01.2022 #KindfulMonday This is a great message for these school holidays! At Hannah's House, kindness is so much more than just one single act, it's one of our core values Today think about how you can make kindness at the centre of everything that you do.
