25.01.2022 Meet Nala the most beautiful Staffordshire Bull Terrier! Staffies have a poor reputation for being aggressive and dangerous. However, it is important to remember that any dog brought up in the wrong way will be aggressive. In reality, staffies are incredibly loving, affectionate, eager to please, social, and a great family dog. Nala here is the perfect example of her beautiful breed and I absolutely love looking after her! She always gives me a big toothy smile when I see her

15.01.2022 Let's talk about possums! Possums are native to Australia and are protected under the Wildlife Act 1975. You might have seen either the Ringtail or Brushtail species living in your back garden. Did you know it is illegal to harass or interfere with possums? However, if you think one might be in danger/injured you can call Wildlife Victoria and take it to your closest veterinary clinic. Responsible pet ownership is key to keeping our wildlife safe. To help do this, you can make sure your dog is on a leash when walking through wildlife reserves and keep your cat inside at night. We can then continue to enjoy native wildlife AND keep our pets safe! This baby girl and her sister were brought to my veterinary clinic and we had the pleasure of looking after them until they were picked up by a foster carer!

15.01.2022 Don't forget to put out water for wildlife today Read below to find out more and what you can do if you find a heat stressed animal...

14.01.2022 Meet Donna and Saber the Japanese Spitzs! These two are by far the floofiest dogs I have ever looked after and they were both so cuddly and wonderful. As you can see by the picture on the left, studying was a bit of a challenge due to Saber using my textbook as a pillow

12.01.2022 Meet Otis the Maremma x and Kiku the Japanese Akita! I had the absolute pleasure of looking after this gorgeous pair on their farm for three weeks. These two are completely opposite; Otis loves attention and spent most of his time by my side, whereas Kiku is always getting up to mischief (as you can see from her muddy feet) and prowls the forest at night for her next prey (unfortunately mister fox didn't make it )! Despite being opposites, Kiku and Otis are besties and the saying "opposites attract" couldn't be more true! #maremma #japaneseakita #petcare

05.01.2022 I'm back in Melbourne after my month of volunteering in Timor Leste During my six hour layover in Darwin, I ended up at the Mindl Beach Sunset Market and met this absolutely beautiful Macaw! He was very cheeky...it was either my fingers or his seed, so I kept feeding him

05.01.2022 Meet Ella and Sampson, two adorable fifteen-year-old Burmese cats! It took them a year to discover it's much warmer inside the igloo rather than ontop...and now I can't find them anywhere else #snugasabuginarug #twopeasinapod #winterfeels

04.01.2022 Meet Big Sal! Sal shares his home with three other cats; Scoop, Winnie, and Andy, all rescues from The Lost Dog's Home. All four cats were marked for euthanasia due to their various health problems but have been given a second chance at life in a very loving home thanks to their very kind and caring owner Stephanie! While looking after Sal he experienced two seizures. Knowing what to do in these situations can ensure your pet recovers well and doesn't cause further harm to t...hemselves, so what can we do as pet owners? - remain calm - take into consideration your pet is unconscious and may involuntarily harm you so avoid putting your hand near their mouth - move your pet to a safe place away from stairs, furniture, and anything else that may harm them - place something soft under their head to prevent it from hitting the ground - if the seizure persists for more than five minutes, transport them to your nearest veterinary clinic for treatment Thankfully Sal made a full recovery and is undergoing diagnostic testing to determine the cause of his seizures
