23.01.2022 During the Covid 19 stay at home rules I have been updating my web-site and prints for sale with many new images added. Please check it out on the following link. https://hansbentzennaturephotography.com/prints-for-sale/

22.01.2022 Golden Orb Spider found in North Queensland wet tropics. They are not known to normally bite but have been known to kill small birds, so therefore are of concern and should be treated with some respect.

21.01.2022 Some interesting reptiles encountered while travelling in Western Queensland recently. A Gibber Earless Dragon, a Central Bearded Dragon, two Sand Monitors, a Canegrass Two-lined Dragon, an Eastern Bearded Dragon and two Ring-tailed Dragons.

19.01.2022 Murray and Nandroya Falls

19.01.2022 Some photos from Broadwater State Forest. A very nice swimming hole with rainforest walks and many monitors that hang around the camp grounds. Love getting close ups of these Lace and Yellow-spotted Monitors.

18.01.2022 Boodjamulla NP (Lawn Hill) is an oasis in Western Queensland with permanent water flowing into a gorge system it has ample wildlife. Browse through the photos to get just a taste of what you could expect at this wonderful destination.

17.01.2022 Ice - glacier ice, icebergs, sea ice, lots of ice! Very blue and very beautiful ice.

17.01.2022 There is plenty of water in our creeks at the moment. Here are three photos of Broadwater Creek and three of Little Crystal Creek.

16.01.2022 Something a little different!

14.01.2022 Some birds from Argentina the Southern Screamer, the Red-crested Cardinal, Greyish Baywing, Peahen and chick, Saffron Yellow Finch, Great White Egret, Great Kiskadee and a Rhea.

13.01.2022 Here are a few of the many Australian Doves. A Bar-shouldered Dove, a Common Bronzewing, an Emerald Dove, Spinifex Pigeon, Squatter Pigeon and Spotted Dove.

10.01.2022 Atherton tablelands

09.01.2022 Australian King Parrots enticed to some seed up at the Atherton tablelands.

08.01.2022 Cobbold Gorge near Forsyth is conservation reserve with a narrow freshwater creek gorge about 900 metres long, inhabited by numerous fish species and some freshwater crocodiles. I very nice place to visit with informative tours.

08.01.2022 Reeds https://hansbentzennaturephotography.com/product/reeds/

06.01.2022 This male Lumholtz Tree-kangaroo came down to the ground and cautiously moved to another cluster of trees, which meant jumping across some open ground. It was great to see just how similar these lovely tree dwelling animals are to their macropod brothers, once on the ground. The photos aren't as sharp as one would like but they illustrate the very kangaroo method of locomotion.

05.01.2022 Herons and Egrets.

04.01.2022 Wallaman Falls. Long-nosed Bandicoot and Red-legged Pademelons photographed at night in the camp ground.

03.01.2022 South America has many rodents, the largest of course being the Capybara. These photos are all from Argentina, the Coypu or False Otter (sometimes River Rat) is the size of a Wombat or small Beaver, it has very distinctive whiskers and orange teeth. The Hare like animal is a Patagonian Mara, the size of a lamb, I imagine has been dressed on many tables over the years. The last one here is an Azara's Agout photographed in the jungle near Iguazu Falls.

03.01.2022 I had to renew my portable HDD with all my photos recently which left me with the task of re-editing some 80K images. A good chance to cull some old files and find some great ones too. Work in progress as they say.
