24.01.2022 FUN FACT Since Rick and I met over 6 years ago he was always FIFO. Most of the time doing 3 weeks away and 1 week at home. It was always extremely difficult as we are the type of couple that has always been inseparable and there's not much we don't do without each other. 23.01.2022 THE LAST OF OUR 5 WAXS INTERESTING INFO Paraffin wax This particular wax is not sustainable or in my opinion a safe option and is also known as petroleum wax making it the cheapest! Anything that comes from petrol I would prefer not to be breathing in! Although some big brands use it, they actually add a small amount of soy into the mix so they can pass it off as soy but in fact is mainly paraffin wax. You'll find a lot of the candles using this type will have the m...ost gorgeous colours and it does give off a great scent throw, but not great if you've got kids and pets around. These candles will also give off black soot even when you do trim the wick. Don't be fooled by a cheap candle because guaranteed it is made with this kind of wax. This is not biodegradable and extremely hard to clean, also be careful because if it's a coloured candle wax it can stain if spilled. 16.01.2022 What an explosive, amazing and tiring weekend! We had our two best mates joint birthday on the awesome @theyotclub on the Saturday. Pretty much everyone we knew was on the boat so it was so amazing to catch up with people we haven't seen in a loooong time, plus take a break from working our tooshies off. They all burn differently, hold fragrance differently along with many other individual characteristics. Over the next few days we are going to tell you about them but for today Let's talk Soy candles Soy wax is 100% natural as it comes from soybean oil! Using good quality fragrance oils paired with a cotton wick means no toxins and is a vegan friendly wax. If you have children ...or pets or worried about what you breath in, you can rest assured you're safe when burning soy. It will also hold the fragrance in better so you can keep smelling those beautiful candles without lighting them plus soy wax provides a longer burn time by 25-50%. Soy wax is biodegradable and easy to clean with hot soapy water. If it spills it won't stain and you'll be able to get it off. The only way you'll get black soot in your clean burning soy candle is if you haven't cut your wick before each burn. 10.01.2022 Candle Care Tip Did you know you should be trimming your wick to at least 5mm before each and EVERY burn? This actually helps your candle burn for longer because the wick isn't burning as hot. It also makes sure the black mushroom doesn't fall into the wax and spit in your candle. It reduces smoke and makes sure you don't get that black soot around the inside of your jar, because honestly it's ugly! Check out our stories to see the difference it makes. You can use a pair o...f scissors or wick trimmers. Wick trimmers are handy because of the shape so it makes it easier to get down to the bottom of your candle. 09.01.2022 Ok.. I AM DONE!! Our hot water is playing up and I keep getting stuck with cold showers Ahhhh! I've cried, yelled at Rick, been Soo angry. All the emotions, and you can bet this was during the rain when it cooled off a bit. Rick seems to get warm showers and I'm left with SOMETIMES if I'm lucky 30 seconds of warm then COLD!! 07.01.2022 So a couple of weeks ago I decided it was about time I went and got myself the nutrient/ecology testing done. All I can say is that my liver isn't quite functioning properly.. oops.. mainly because I'm a #sweettooth They wrote me a list of foods I can't eat, which they may as well have given me a list of food I CAN eat! Can't have ANYTHING with sugar, including fruit or CAFFEINE. Can't have chicken or beef which was the main meats I ate, along with quite a few different ve...getables. To say the least the last 3 weeks have been EXTREMELY difficult! Only aloud pork, lamb or fish, can have dairy so been eating a lot of #cheese and some vegetables (mainly salad items, can't have roasted veggies). It's crazy how our bodies react... when I first started, had a migraine for 2 days! Then the next few days were really emotional and couldn't stop crying. After 3 weeks I feel so much better and have lost 4kg! Has anyone else done this #nutrientecology testing before and had crazy results?? What sort of reactions did your body have from cutting out certain foods to your #diet even if it wasn't from this testing?? 02.01.2022 So I couldn't believe it today... I've lost what I thought was about 3.8kg recently and thought I would go back and find some before photos I'd taken. Well to my surprise some pics I'd taken on the 1st October 2019 I'd pictured the scales of how much I weighed. I have lost a total of 5.7kg in almost a year!! What the actual! I haven't really noticed it that much apart from I can now fit back into my size 8 clothes but looking at these before photos I had no idea how much w...eight I had actually put on and I looked sooo unhappy!! I've always been the type of person that would train for a couple of weeks (longest stint was 8 weeks with no results) then stop for months and can never keep motivated. The only reason I believe I lost this weight is from diet!! I was completely over eating back then and eating rubbish! Mind you I still can't help having rubbish at least a couple of times a week but only eat when I'm actually hungry and have portioned meals like a normal person. I never thought it would be possible but this just proves it is. My tip, always take before photos to see how far you've come! Have you lost weight just by diet?
