23.01.2022 The extraction of raw materials from the earths crust inevitably impacts the surrounding natural environment. However, these impacts are successfully addressed with our well-designed rehabilitation plan. One aspect of this plan contributes continuously to replanting various native flora in order to bring back the quarry site to its natural state. As a result, hundreds of new trees are being planted every year. Learn more about the Glasshouse Quarry. https://loom.ly/Sg9zRRs

19.01.2022 The Hanson Glasshouse Quarry is recognised as one of the most successful and well-managed quarries in Queensland due to the stringent management of Chris Wilson and his committed team of local employees. We are very proud to be a part of this important industry and to be operating a clean and safe quarry. Learn more about the Glasshouse Quarry. https://loom.ly/Sg9zRRs

19.01.2022 The highly skilled boilermakers at the Hanson Glasshouse Quarry work hard to construct, assemble, maintain, and repair equipment for readiness of quarry operations. Their efforts do not go unnoticed as they hold an essential role in keeping the Glasshouse Quarry working safely, effectively and efficiently. The Glasshouse Quarry actively employs boilermakers and fitter apprentices from local schools and the community. At the end of their apprenticeship, these employees are provided employment opportunities not only at Glasshouse Quarry Workshop but also within the wider Hanson business. 18.01.2022 Some images from the Sunshine Coast Council Mooloolaba sea wall project. A variety or our pitching and armour rock is being used and it’s looking great!

18.01.2022 Once the rock is crushed, and the impurities are removed, the resulting aggregate is graded by size and stockpiled before being loaded onto trucks and transported to the on-site concrete plant or a construction site. Cool, hey! Learn more about the Glasshouse Quarry. https://loom.ly/Sg9zRRs

16.01.2022 As part of Glasshouse Mountains Safety week we completes a hazard hunt. All staff nominated an area of exposure for rectification. This has been placed on a wall so progress can be seen with several being closed out already. Thanks to all for your input in keeping our people safe!

16.01.2022 LOTOTO - Locking out, Tagging out and Trying out is critical prior to many activities we conduct onsite. Ensuring the machine is isolated with a personal lock, tagged correctly, followed by trying to start the machine to ensure Isolation is effective. These steps are critical to ensure the safety of our team.

15.01.2022 Yesterday Glasshouse Quarry was lucky enough to have Aaron Johnstone and Cassandra Koutouridis from CCAA visit. We discussed our core focus area of traffic and pedestrian mgmt, along with our extensive community engagement. Earlier in the year we were recognised by the CCAA for our work in this space. As a result we received the 2019 industry innovation award for community engagement. Thank you for coming to visit us!

15.01.2022 We want you to meet Brendan! Brendan joined Hanson in Year 10 to begin his School Based Traineeship. It was here at the Glasshouse Quarry Brendan first learnt about the quarry, how it operates and how the final product is achieved. After Brendan finished his workplace experience, while still studying at school, he decided to further advance his skills with a Fabricator Apprenticeship. Almost four years on, Brendan is now in a permanent position as a Boilermaker at the Gla...sshouse Quarry Workshop. "It wasnt until I started at Hanson that I realised how important quarrying is for our community. Im stoked to be a part of such a solid team, all working hard to contribute to the bigger picture. Even when some days are long and never-ending, theres always something new to learn, and I couldnt imagine doing anything else." Brendan also captains the Hanson Glasshouse Quarry social touch football team, the Rock Breakers. "The boys really get around it. Its good to do something fun and have a laugh outside of work." 13.01.2022 Seth and the team from Badge Constructions visited the Quarry this week. Whilst touring the site we discussed our process, products and their applications. Shout out to Imogen to snapped this great shot!

13.01.2022 This year traffic management has been a key focus on keeping our people safe. Some of they ways we are working to reduce our exposure is demonstrated in the photo below. Segregation is critical between pedestrians and all vehicles, along with dedicated road tipper lanes to reduce interactions with heavy machinery. One way traffic flow and good visibility in intersections is another area we are continually improving with feedback from operators, road tippers and light vehicles critical in getting it right!

12.01.2022 Today we took time to check in on our team with a sausage sizzle and many conversations. Mates looking out for mates

11.01.2022 We hope everyone has been keeping safe and well as we face these challenging times. We have been busy upgrading our traffic management around the office. As the linemarking is yet to be completed please see below a diagram on traffic flow. As always please proceed to the office in the first instance, unless you are inducted to site.

11.01.2022 Once the rock is initially processed in the Primary Crusher, it is then conveyed onto a Secondary Crusher and tertiary cone crushers. When the rock has been through the cone crushers its passed through a series of screens to meet the desired product sizes. If the rock hasnt been crushed enough it will then recirculate through the crushers until it meets strict specifications Cool hey! Learn more about the Glasshouse Quarry. https://loom.ly/Sg9zRRs

09.01.2022 Enjoying the wet weather today after the recent planting of another 150 trees! Thank you to Barung Landcare for the tube stock

09.01.2022 Mick and our skilled maintenance team have built a stand for our rock hammer. The stand is engineered and skid mounted keeping the hammer of the ground. The result is clear housekeeping benefits, and storing the hammer in this configuration reduces our exposure in terms of safety and environmentally. Well done to the great minds and skills that made this happen!

08.01.2022 I caught up (albeit at a distance) with Fiona and Gaynor from Glass House State School on the 1st of May to review the new staff car park. Working with Fiona on this project over the last year we were very pleased to be able to contribute with the supply of over 400t of Quarry materials! I hope the new car park is enjoyed by all, It looks great. This project certainly fits with our own values @ Hanson of keeping our people safe!

08.01.2022 Carefully planned and controlled drilling and blasting is one of the first operations to be carried out here at the Hanson Glasshouse Quarry. 06.01.2022 Barrie and our production team utilise our change out bays on a daily basis. Designed to clearly segregate light vehicles from heavy machinery, positive communication throughout this process is a key part of our culture at Glasshouse Quarry! The latest addition to these bays are PPE stations. Full of gloves, earplugs, glove clips, glasses, out of service tags and even pens. This allows for 3 points around the quarry where PPE is readily available, increasing efficiency in getting the job done safely! This also reduces yellow machine interactions around our workshop and office facilities. Great idea put into play by the team at Glasshouse Quarry.

04.01.2022 Meet Sam, one of our skilled operators at Glasshouse. Sam and his family have recently built a house in our local community. During any house build, many quarry materials are required as shown in these photos . Great job, We think it looks awesome Sam well done

This aligns with our additional stations located in the quarry, allowing us to capture contractors and visitors and direct them to complete all required documentation. Also new to this area is a display of some of the products available at Glasshouse Quarry.
