05.01.2022 NBD CALORIES FOR A CAUSE On Saturday, 5 August 2017 we will be hosting NBD Calories for a Cause at Unit 2, 160 Hartley Road, Smeaton Grange in the State of New ...South Wales. The event will see teams of four battling it out for two hours to try and achieve the most calories on the rowing machine, the ski erg and the assault bike. Our mission is to raise awareness and funds for Soldier On Australia who currently receive no government funding, so that they can continue to provide much needed support to the strongest, the bravest and even the toughest veterans who continue to carry the scars (both physical and psychological) from their time in service. WHY SOLDIER ON? Recently, we had noticed that one of our clients hadn’t been to the gym for a while... so we sent her a text to see if she was okay. It turns out, she wasn't. Her world had been turned upside down when her father, who suffers from PTSD as a result of his service in the Army during the Rwanda Genocide, tried to take his own life. Fortunately, he was unsuccessful in his serious attempt to take his own life and now remains under the care of the team at St John of God Hospital. As she came to terms with how to deal with what had just happened to her family, we knew we wanted to help in whatever way we could. So. we've teamed up with this very brave young girl, the fantastic crew at The Fitness Generation & Nxt-Gen Sports Nutrition to put on a fundraiser. THE EVENT RULES: 1. Teams must include a minimum of one female. 2. There are to be ONLY three people working at any one time. One person must be "resting". 3. Teams must email [email protected] with the full name, phone number & email address for each person in the team and their preferred wave time. 4. Teams are asked to raise a minimum of $200.00 by hitting "join team" on our fundraising page. The team with the most calories at the end of the day after all waves have been completed will win a $1,000.00 NovoFit gift voucher.
