22.01.2022 We are in this together. We are all connected. I want to share with you my tips on looking after your inner world when the external world is in turmoil - Spend time daily looking after your physical body for example take time and apply lotion everywhere, mindfully brush your hair, exercise and eat healthy nourishing food. Connect to your breath everyday mindfully. Do this as many times as you can to stay grounded in the present. ... Find opportunities to appreciate yourself to yourself. You are responsible for filling your own cup. Especially now, don’t wait for things to improve in your life or in the world or to tick your to do list off or to achieve a milestone to appreciate yourself. Notice the small things about yourself and appreciate those. For example - appreciate the way you smile, the way you feel connected to your self, the way you relate to others, the way you can multitask, your ability to learn, your attitude. Rest - look after yourself by intentionally getting of the treadmill of the daily grind and enjoy a cup of coffee if possible without interruptions. And then find time to rest. Maybe sleep 30 minutes early tonight or if you can wake up a bit late, do that. Spend time in the sun - with many countries still under restrictions it can be difficult to find a comfortable spot in sunlight. Get creative and find ways to bathe yourself in the healing rays of the sun. Honour your inner guidance when it comes participating in any movement that is happening in the world right now to bring about positive change. Show up only when you have taken care of your own needs and filled your own cup. Come into alignment with your higher self and then join the movement that inspires you or that you feel passionately about. Take action with the focus on hope, faith and belief that it will eventually get better. Meditate - give yourself self the best tool you will ever need to take care of yourself in the most holistic way. Learn how to meditate. Start with guided meditation. And enjoy the benefits. 16.01.2022 My life purpose is to help and teach you, to have a healthy and loving relationship with yourself. So what do you think of yourself? And yes I do believe that this particular relationship is not a given. Most of us lose the connection we have with ourselves when we were very young. And when we enter adulthood we are thrust into the world not knowing who we are. That makes navigating through life much harder. We do evolve as we grow older but the fundamentals of staying in tou...ch with yourself remain the same. A good indication of this connection or relationship with yourself is that you display any or all of these behaviors. You use self-talk frequently to make yourself feel better about a given situation. You don't get triggered by how others perceive you or judge you because you know who you are very well. You use your strengths to your advantage and own up to your weaknesses without being unkind to yourself. You don't hesitate to ask for help when you feel overwhelmed or stressed. You establish healthy boundaries in your relationships letting your loved ones know confidently about how you would like to be treated. You do not seek approval from others while making decisions You do not tolerate being disrespected by others, be it your spouse, boss or friend. You aim to create harmony in your relationships because you know that they contribute to your happiness. You know how to make yourself happy. You prioritize your self-care routines and schedule " Me time" along with the multitude of responsibilities that occupy your daily life. You know what your internal fears are and work at managing them. You don't feel guilty about deliberately doing nice things for yourself. You don't beat yourself up for getting it wrong or for failing. You can always find something to appreciate in your physical self when you look at yourself in the mirror. Go through this list at least twice, and assess for yourself if there is room for improvement in the relationship you have with yourself. I am still work in progress. 06.01.2022 Happiness is in the smaller moments not in the big celebratory moments. Create daily practices that ground you, balance you and give you joy. The big moments come and go. You celebrate with some !! Mark a milestone in your conscious memory and the very next day you are already looking ahead at what’s next. Human beings love familiarity and when you create familiar practices that make you feel good and practice that daily it leads to happiness. The kind that creeps in slowly..., sinks in deep and doesn’t depend on the external circumstances. The kind that softens you and fills you with sweetness. Whether it is reading your favourite books before you sleep, meditating in the morning, your exercise routine, a daily chat with a friend or partner, warm cuddles from your children or pets, sipping your tea slowly or writing in your gratitude journal - make it meaningful and do it daily. 03.01.2022 Happiness is not a destination. Happiness doesn’t come by finding the right partner, the right job, more money or a bigger house. Happiness is an attitude. Happiness is a practice. Happiness is a skill. You can choose to be happy now irrespective of your life circumstances. It’s not going to be easy but learning to practice happiness daily is the only sustainable way of improving your inner and outer conditions. My top tips to practice happiness Look for things that are... right in your life. The smallest of smallest things will do. Some days that could be the delicious coffee you had. Find abundance around you. In the sunshine on your face, in the hugs from your loved ones, in the raindrops falling from the sky, in the food that you eat. Prioritise your mood and wellbeing over the difficult colleague or partner or friend. Don’t let others misalignment impact your alignment. Practice noticing yourself think. You are not your thoughts. You are the observer of your thoughts. Stop identifying with your thoughts. You are bigger than your thoughts. Like my professor says get on the balcony . Zoom out and view yourself, your drama and your thoughts. Practice self compassion. Learn to soothe yourself. Learn to be kind and supportive of yourself. Learn to love yourself, one tiny step at a time. There are no shortcuts to happiness and like any other practice when you neglect it, you become rusty. So be devoted to your own happiness. Create it for yourself. 03.01.2022 How much do you want a better life? I emphasise on the word " much " because in my coaching practice and life experience I have observed that most people want a better life or better circumstances in a particular area of their lives. And I put myself in that lot as well. But it is only when your desire to improve your circumstances is strong enough and you are devoted to do "the work", does the universe start to shift things to help you out. Let's talk a bit about " the wo...rk". The work is the practice of consistently focusing on what you want and what makes you feel good. The work is the practice of raising your vibration daily by immersing yourself in joy-inducing activities. The work is the practice of eliminating tolerations and energy drainers in your daily routine and relationships. The work is going deeper and becoming aware of your unfulfilled needs and taking responsibility for them. Loving yourself and appreciating yourself is your responsibility. The work is the practice of staying in the present by connecting to your breath. The work is the practice of increasing your awareness not only of what is upsetting you but what thoughts and stories you are telling yourself about what is upsetting you. The work is the practice of daily meditation. And the work needs to be practised daily. It has to become a way of living. The practice is the work and the work is the practice. Change in your circumstances will not happen until you do the work. And so I invite you to not waste any more time waiting, yearning or doing to make your life better.
