24.01.2022 I don't think we can fully understand the reason for why some of us are fussy and some of us are not. This is an interesting article.

22.01.2022 Something to start thinking about as NDIS gets closer

21.01.2022 Do you need to know more about the NDIS?

18.01.2022 The family dinner doesn't have to be a gourmet 3 course meal with a perfectly set table, it doesn't even have to be every night. The research does show though that regular family meals supports a positive learning experience for young children. It is a time for parents to model healthy eating, it creates an atmosphere that is warm and relaxed and sets expectations of behaviour and the volume and variety of food eaten.

14.01.2022 Do you have a child with sensory issues who doesn't eat their lunch at school? Here are 5 common reasons why children would rather go without their lunch 1. Noise.....lunch times can be super noisy. If your child is easily distracted they may have a hard time blocking out the back ground noise 2. Smell.....the smell of food around them can be very offensive 3. Lack of preferred foods....packing new foods in the hope that your child will eat them can sometimes be off putting.... 4. Food is different.....a sensory child can tell the difference between a sandwich made freshly for them and one that has been kept in a plastic container 5. Too much food....Sometimes a child is overwhelmed by choice. See more

13.01.2022 Sensory, sensory, sensory. Did your kids react like that to anything like these kids did?

12.01.2022 Thankyou Georgina and Good Luck xoxo

12.01.2022 Been there and done that?

11.01.2022 Good posture and core stability is an important consideration for successful mealtimes. If you have a wiggler, slumper, kneeler, w-sitter or a leaner, we can help you look at better seating/sitting options.

10.01.2022 Some helpful advice for families who have children who suffer from food allergies. Allergies can increase anxiety in children making them wary of new foods, sometimes resulting in selective eating habits

09.01.2022 When we think of fussy eaters we tend to think of toddlers. At Happy Eaters we see fussy eating habits in all age groups. Many of our older children present with ARFID an eating disorder that not only affects their nutritional intake but also their ability to enjoy food in a social setting. https://yourteenmag.com//teenager-m/arfid-eating-disorder

07.01.2022 This is a VERY interesting article.... we could all learn something from this little girl

05.01.2022 Here is an interesting perspective from an adult with Sendory Processing Disorder. Perhaps you can relate?

01.01.2022 I like this quote. It made me think of fussy eaters and children with ARFID. Parents be patient.....yes it can take a long time for a child to accept a new food..... a very long time, but if we keep it fun and play based, it can become a whole lot quicker!
