14.01.2022 ABAs services during COVID-19: Greater Geelong group Our local group in Greater Geelong, has been supporting mothers and families in the local area for 55 years. Our area includes Geelong and surrounding suburbs, from Little River to the Bellarine Peninsula, along the coast to Lorne and inland as far as Colac, Cressy and Teesdale. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we have continued to run virtual local group meetings to connect mothers weekly using Zoom. As well as facilitating... friendships, the support provided includes information on breastfeeding during a pandemic, looking after mothers mental health during times of lock-down, directing mothers to local health services when needed and providing reassurance about normal baby behaviours and breastfeeding. We also continue to provide safe and timely breast pump hire services. 14.01.2022 Wow, we were not kidding when we said cold winters day! What a magical experience this was to share with the children. The sounds of the childrens voices throughout the centre was amazing. There were giggles, squeals and cheers of excitement.

13.01.2022 Multi Cultural Day Thursday the children in the centre participated in a day where they can learn about Multi Cultural. The children were engaged in a range of activities and group discussions through out the day were they discussed even though we all look different on the outside, we are the same on the inside. The children read some books about different cultural backgrounds. The children quite enjoyed dressing up for the day :)

12.01.2022 Geelong Mums and eureka mums in Ballarat could really use all the help they can get at this time of year. Is there anything you can do to help?

12.01.2022 It was such a perfect day to be at the beach, not a cloud in the sky. The children were full of questions and keen for a paddle. The giggles and squeals of delight were all the evidence we needed to show that everyone enjoyed the day. We were also lucky enough to be positioned near some beautiful drum players as we enjoyed our picnic lunch. The bus ride back was a little too much for some

12.01.2022 Today we have been blessed with a visit by Daniel from Reading out of Poverty. Daniel and the team at Reading Out of Poverty have generously donated a HUGE amount of books to our centre to be added to our family book swap station. Reading out of Poverty has also supplied us with book packs for all of our wonderful children, please collect your pack from the family reading lounge. I have attached information below reading the incentive to encourage children to read and the importance of reading aloud with children.
