He has worked hard his whole life, safely navigated his family of 12 through the civil war and taken care of his family when they were refugees for many years. Without him, you would also not have Happy Garden! Can you believe that next year, Happy Garden will celebrate its 40th birthday!

19.01.2022 HAPPY GARDEN HISTORY Originally from Maliana in Timor-Leste, the Lee’s were forced to flee their home in 1975 during the chaos of the civil war that followed. This is a photo of the Lee Family in Timor-Leste before the civil war. 6 years later they arrived in Darwin and opened the very first Happy Garden in the Parap Village!
