19.01.2022 My name is Margo and I am the owner and groomer of happy hounds We often hear so many negative stories about groomers. I'd like to give you some insight into a groomer's daily job. We only see your dogs every 6 weeks so each year, only about 10 times for a total of 30 hours out of 365 days or 8,750 hours a year. We only have about 3 hours to groom your dog each session. It's your responsibility to brush and maintain your dog's hair at home. Groomers are no magicians, we... cannot produce the styles you want if we're presented with a dog that are matted and haven't been brushed regularly. If your dogs don't enjoy you brushing them at home, they will not enjoy being brushed by the groomer. Owners often say "I brush him everyday". If your groomer tells you your dog is matted, it's likely you're using the wrong tools or method to brush your dog. Your groomer will more than happy to show you how to do it properly at home because it makes grooming sessions at the salon more enjoyable for your dog and groomer. It's important to keep your babies on a schedule so it's a routine and not feel like punishment. A dog that is always matted and visits the groomer every 3-6 months, see groomers as a punishment, while a dog that is groomed every 4-6 weeks see it as a part of life. Another point, dogs are like little children and they know how to manipulate. I'm sure most of you have heard owners saying, "my dog starts shaking when it arrives at the groomer" and how many times did the groomer say "your dog is fine as soon as you leave the salon". Dogs absorb owner's emotions and feed off of their owners' nervous energy. I can't tell you how many times, I'll have a dog who behaves perfectly on the table but starts to carry on like it's being tortured as soon as a client walks in the door. So please, GROOMERS ARE NOT EVIL. We're in the profession because it's our passion and our love of dogs or cats. We don't do it for fun. Dog grooming is a very demanding job, long hours, physically demanding and emotionally draining. Please respect and appreciate your groomer And just a side note : I have amazing clients whom totally understand... this is just a great opportunity to highlight our plight at times

02.01.2022 COVID UPDATE : We are able to open .... on Monday 28th September.... Well done to all my fellow groomers who have worked so so hard behind the scenes. Bravo to you all. ... So I am moving everyone who had been booked in prior to 2weeks forward ... starting Monday 28th .... I will be in contact with you all ... to confirm ... Anyone wishing to book pls get in contact with me and we will ... either pop u in if I hv a cancellation or on my list .... I will be working towards getting everyone groomed where possible .... The procedure for non contact pick up and drop off will be posted closer to opening. However I am still here loving my career of 20 years Happy hounds will now take fewer numbers per day which means individual attention and fun is still had ... ... To say Im upset is a understatement... so all clients who were scheduled in to start on Monday the 14th I will move forward to October ......
