24.01.2022 Hi all, This is not the first time I have heard this regarding this toy! (And others!).Please make sure your dog is supervised at all times while playing with any type of dog toy at home to keep our doggies safe from harm.

23.01.2022 It’s House Colours day in our house today! No prizes for guessing which colour house Liv is in. It’s also a great opportunity to introduce the 2 new members of our family to you all. Binnie and Benny! ... We adopted these 2 beautiful dogs at the end of February after one of my gorgeous clients sadly passed away from cancer at the end of last year and the family couldn’t take them on permanently. We promised her and her lovely family before she passed that we would take them on as we all loved them (especially Beau) and as they were so precious to her (and us), it was the least we could do. They are settling in beautifully and we absolutely love having them around! I hope you are all surviving these challenging times and your dogs are loving the extra company. Hopefully we will see you all soon! Stay safe! From all of us at Happy Leashes

23.01.2022 FREE TO A GOOD HOME! Not our usual post but this gorgeous boy is desperately looking for a new home! One of my clients has contacted us tonight asking if we know of anyone who would be willing to give him a loving new home as his owners are relocating in 2 weeks time and are unable to take him with them. If they can’t find anyone in time he will be sent to doggie heaven!! . Please contact me if you or someone you know would be interested and for more details.

22.01.2022 Hello everyone! Please be aware of this if using peanut butter in a Kong or as a treat for your doggies! There is a new peanut butter that has less sugar and uses an artificial sweetener instead (Xylitol) which is toxic to dogs!

20.01.2022 Happy New Year to you all! I have just seen this and thought it was worth sharing in case anyone uses this product to feed their dog/dogs? Hope you and your doggies are staying cool and keeping out of the smoke. ... From all of us at Happy Leashes

18.01.2022 Hi all, I have another update on Charlie and it’s good news! His owner has just phoned me and said a friend of hers has offered to take him short term until she can hopefully sort out accommodation for him interstate where she is moving so she is hoping he can stay with her which is great! ... If she is unable to find accommodation for the two of them she will let us know so that we can again help try and find him a new forever home. I have asked her to keep me posted on the outcome so I will let you all know once she has communicated this to me. I can’t thank you all enough for help, shares and support in trying to find a new home and a great outcome for this gorgeous boy! Thanks a million! From all of us at Happy Leashes

15.01.2022 Hi all! Just an update on Charlie, At this point we have not found him a forever home as yet so if you know of anyone who is interested please contact me ASAP and preferably tomorrow as I need to know before Wednesday. I have someone who might take him temporarily until we can find him a home but would love him to go straight to his new forever home so it is not so unsettling for him. Thanks all for your on behalf of Charlie! You have all been amazing!

11.01.2022 We hope everyone is enjoying the summer holidays? Today will be 44 Degrees so we felt it extremely important to share these crucial tips from the RSPCA to help keep your pets cool and comfortable on days like this and prevent heatstroke. https://www.rspcavic.org//keeping-your-pet-cool-during-sum

09.01.2022 Seeing as we are about to enter yet another stage 3 lockdown, I felt that we could all do with a little bit of light humour to cheer us up a bit! (goodness knows I could do with it with the prospect of more homeschooling inevitability looming ahead!). Please stay safe everyone and hopefully this will be over sooner rather than later!

08.01.2022 A warm welcome to Daisy who has joined in our adventures for this week and the rest of the school holidays! She has had a ball with all her new friends this week! Love this smile!

08.01.2022 As we approach Easter enjoy the festivities, but please remember to keep your dogs and other pets safe and away from any chocolate! Happy Easter to you all and your fur babies!

07.01.2022 *LATEST UPDATE: Hello everyone! I have had a few clients contact me after yesterday’s announcements asking whether I am able to operate now seeing as I am a sole trader. Unfortunately the answer to this is no. ... Vic Business and the DHHS have confirmed today that there has been no change to our industry at this stage so we still are unable to operate. Rest assured I will let you all know as soon as there are any changes to this. Please give your dogs a big pat for me as I am missing them all and I hope that we will be back again sooner rather than later! Stay safe all and take care! IMPORTANT UPDATE: Due to the latest Stage 4 lockdown Restrictions now being enforced throughout the Greater Melbourne Region and the advice given from the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and Business Victoria, we have made the decision to close our service as of last Wednesday, August 5th, to all of our valued clients until further notice. We feel this is the right thing to do for our beloved clients and our community as everyone’s safety as well as your dogs, like always, is our number one priority. Rest assured that we will be here for you once again with our covid safe plan and infection control policies in place all ready for when the restrictions are lifted and we have been given the go ahead to safely re-open again. We look forward to this day and until then please stay safe everyone and just like the gorgeous Layla in this photo who was caught by her owner waiting patiently for her walk with us a few weeks ago, we hope to see you all again soon! (Fingers crossed!). Thank you so much for your understanding and ongoing support during these challenging times! It means a lot to us and from our family to yours, take care and we look forward to walking your gorgeous doggies again as soon as we are permitted. (PLEASE NOTE: The ONLY EXCEPTIONS that ARE allowed for Dog Walkers in accordance with advice given from the relevant government organisations DHHS and Business Victoria, will be for clients who are either disabled or suffer from a serious medical condition/illness which prevents them from walking their dog themselves. In order to prove this I am only able to help if I have all of the relevant paperwork required so please contact me regarding this if you fall into this category. I WILL NOT do any dog walking if this is not provided and I don’t have everything that is legally required. Thanks so much for your understanding surrounding this and if you have any questions please feel free to contact me. Angie - Happy Leashes #Covid -19 #Lockdown stage 4 # please stay safe #we are here for you.

06.01.2022 For anyone planning on travelling to any southern beach in Western Australia over the school holidays or in the near future with their dog/s PLEASE READ. Our beaches may be too cold for the sea hare here in VIC, but I still felt it was worth posting as I had not heard of these before or the danger they pose to our dogs.

04.01.2022 It has been a wonderful and busy start to the year for all of us here at Happy Leashes but no one is happier about this than Beau who has all his friends back from their holidays to play with!

04.01.2022 IMPORTANT!! PLEASE READ! It’s difficult to comprehend anyone would do such a thing but unfortunately there are a select few who don’t feel the same about animals as we do. I recently found a large piece of raw chicken in the middle of Hartwell Sportsground that I am almost positive was laced with poison. Luckily I found it first and disposed of it before any of the dogs at the park found it and ate it. ... I have also found a block of chocolate in Glen Iris about 2 months ago. It was stashed under a bush and I of course disposed of it straight away. Please ALWAYS remember to watch your dogs carefully whether you are out walking the streets with them or are at an off-lead park as any food they find could potentially be harmful, particularly if it’s been planted there on purpose! Also by teaching your dog the command Leave it! you could potentially help save your dogs life! The safety of your dogs is our number one priority here at Happy Leashes, which is why we feel it is essential when something like this happens so close to home that you are made aware and can keep your eye out for potential dangers to your dogs.

03.01.2022 Even the dogs think todays weather was crazy!#Happy Dogs regardless# avoided the rain! #Had a fantastic walk!

01.01.2022 As we head into the hotter summer months ahead (including today!), it’s important to consider the effects the heat can have on your dog as they are not able to regulate their body temperature as easily as we can. As a professional dog walking service, Happy Leashes has a strict no- walk policy when a certain temperature is reached based mostly on this chart and dependent on the dogs age, breed and current weather conditions as your dogs safety and welfare are important to u...s. We felt it was important to share this so that everyone is aware of the dangers of walking their dogs in hot weather as all to often I see people risking walking their dogs on extremely hot days. Even when it cools down don’t forget to check the footpath and pavement temperatures as they often hold the heat and can burn your doggies paws. When walking in safe conditions on warm/hot days, remember to always carry extra water for your pooch as well. Happy walking everyone ! From the Happy Leashes team!
