22.01.2022 In the words of Rose from Titanic 'It's been 1 year 4 months and I can still smell the fresh wee. The potty had never been used. The wet sofa couldn't be sat on. Getting her to sit on the toilet was in my dreams, and it was. It really was" 1st daughter took 1 month 2nd daughter took 1 week 3rd daughter took 1 year 4 months!! Woo hoo to no more wet clothes, floor or sofa! ... But I've learnt a big lesson and continue to do so with each of my girls. When they are ready; (goes for anything) going to the toilet, riding a bike with no training wheels, or standing up to be a class representative it happens on their terms. When their mindset changes to 'I'm ready let's go' they do it. No pushing or bribing! and the proud look on their faces So I've made a life note to myself; to always show my kids the way but to let them lead me there, even if it takes a very long time....

When my first baby was born I was in shock more than anything else, even photos show a dazed and confused expression! Where the heck had she come from?! What just happened to me? what am I supposed to do now? Why is my belly still so huge? Why did no one tell me about the bleeding and the hard, uncomfortable lea...king boobs? Is it just me who hates breastfeeding because my nipples are shredded to bits from last night when you fed all the way through? Can I do this when I'm so damn exhausted? 12.01.2022 Thinking of all the mamas to be doing it alone at this time ; attending medical appointments without being able to bring support or having to change birth plans to account for all the social distancing practices. Thinking of new mamas who haven't been able to introduce their little ones to the family, or are struggling as they navigate motherhood alone, unable to connect with others for a chat and a much needed hug. 08.01.2022 I'm a strong believer that we weren't just put on this world and left to it. The food and medicine we need can be found in the abundance of plants. Our ancestors would have known exactly what herb, spice, tincture or essential oil (all of which would have been organic!) to use for all kinds of ailments. Using some of this knowledge, Happy Mama Organics products combine healing ingredients to make products that are gentle and effective at helping skin repair, just as mother nature intended.

03.01.2022 Such a beautiful quote yet so ironic at this time and it's made me think ... I'm fortunate that I'm home with my hubby and girls, enjoying (so far!) homeschooling and time together. #gratitude. In contrast, there are those in isolation, parents for example unable to introduce their new additions to the family, grandparents unable to hold their grandchildren, or the incredible heroes on the front line who have sacrificed holding their own in order to hold others. #thankyoumedi...calstaff Then as we stay at home there's the evaluation of what's important and my realisation that for too long I've held onto stuff. Why? Oh 'just incase'. Clothes and shoes I'll never wear, toys that we are keeping because maybe ONE day the kids will play with them.. kitchen gadgets that are so useful they live in a box in the garage. Other things around the house that serve absolutely zero purpose. So I'm decluttering (calling it a 'shedding' exercise) and already starting to feel lighter. (This has also impacted what we will be spending our money on in future) #nowaste Things we took for granted; being with each other, giving our friends a hug, going to our favourite places, now all have new appreciation. The universe works in mysterious ways and I'm definitely feeling the spiritual impact of this experience. How is this affecting you? X
