21.01.2022 Early in the 20th century, sailors and submariners were suffering from poor communications in the Southern Hemisphere. The wars raged on and it was soon apparent that our sailors were critical to keeping the enemy from our shore. The Navy Jetty in Exmouth was built by joint US and Australian Naval forces to facilitate the importation of materials used to create what is still today the most powerful and strategically important naval communications base in the Southern Hemisp...here. Since we know of our Dunsborough community’s strong historical ties to the ocean and respect for our WA maritime history, we have managed to secure and bring some of the last known pieces of the original jetty to Dunsborough. On Friday, after a joint effort by many, our good mates at Exmouth Freight & Logistics rolled into town carrying this glorious consignment of WA maritime history. We are very honoured to be erecting these WA history ridden pieces in our bar this week for all to bask in their glory when we finally decide to let you scoundrels in! See more
