Tune in for this free event on Wednesday 14 October at 7.30pm (Australian Eastern Daylight Time), as Benjamin L...aw interviews artist Kim Leutwyler and the subject of her Archibald Prize 2020 finalist portrait, Brian Firkus, otherwise known as drag superstar Trixie Mattel! Kim, who is known for her vibrant portraits of figures from the LGBTQI+ community, has painted Trixie before, dressed in her signature pink-and-yellow Barbie-inspired style. But for her 2020 #ArchibaldPrize entry, Kim decided to paint Brian, the man behind the frocks and wigs, who has stunned audiences with his musical and performative prowess, both in and out of drag. 18.01.2022 And that’s a wrap! The Kink Kloset had officially ended its first season! I would have never had thought that it would have been as well received as it has be...en. Twenty episodes over a 10 month period is amazing. I have seen these episodes become snapshots of the kink community and a great chance to share the story of some lovely kinksters. One thing I didn’t anticipate, was how rich of an educational tool these episodes would be. It warms my heart each time I get told that someone has learned something about themselves or developed their understanding more, after listening to an episode. I hope the Kink Kloset has kept you company during your day and continues to do so in the future.
