23.01.2022 A short story by Debby Bennett, Outreach Worker. Today at the hub, I listened to a young guy telling me about life on the streets. It is cut throat out there. They can not sleep soundly. The police tell them to move on or if they do find some were they may get robbed or stabbed. They have to find a place in the day to catch to sleep. If that's not bad enough they have to keep a eye on vermin coming up to them while they catch a nap. It is ridiculous how we treat our human rac...e. Sydney council look after their homeless and CHCC treat theirs like rubbish. It really hurts me how our society looks at them and shakes their heads at individuals who are homeless. Have you every thought of walking up shaking there hands and give them a burger or a drink? Some people may, I wish more did. Think I'm too emotional and probley a crazy person to do this. But I’m determined with Dean and the team to make a big impact for those that have so little. Many have some sort of brain damage through drugs and alcohol and suffer depression. These lives matter too... See more

16.01.2022 Congratulations to Robert Carroll from Allawah Home Maintenance who won the 1st of our monthly raffles. Huge thank you to Huxleys Seafoods of GDT Secombe Close, Coffs Harbour for the seafood platter... https://www.facebook.com//a.1061488880170/106148841350375/

12.01.2022 Now this is what I call helping each other. This made me so proud. I received this a min ago. I am just wondering if you would be interested in tents/ sleeping bags etc - Our community has a lot left over from bushfires and we need to donate them.

12.01.2022 Today we opened up our food area for the homeless and we made up a few rolls with meat and salad and took them over to those in need. We can make sandwiches, toasted sandwiches, coffee, tea even Milo. We have break cereals, toast etc. Thank you to all our wonderful community for the donations. Also a big thank you to our beanie and scarf makers. Every time some brings something in my heart swells. Cheers Debby Bennett, Outreach Worker.
