02.01.2022 It isn't easy for us to acknowledge that we have been hacked, but for the alert factor for everyone, we are sharing our story. Our warning is this - we always knew that sending credit card numbers by email is an absolute no no. But in dealings with another Geraldton business this week, an email with a new BSB and Account number was sent to us. It was intercepted by a hacker using malware, changed to different numbers for their account and then put on its original journey. So ...the payments we made to the new numbers have been like tipping money down the drain. To say the least we are devastated for us and our business partners to be subjected to this low life theft and we just want everyone to be more aware. You can use attachments like pdfs to attach to an email with info, but don't put financial info directly into an email because you don't know who is watching With everyone under pressure from COVID, the occasions of this type of theft will increase and the thieves could be anywhere in the world. Please Be Aware!!
