17.01.2022 This is not a new build as such but revamp of one of my favourite guitars I built in 2011. It had a beautiful highly flamed QLD Maple neck but unfortunately it was completely unstable, I have donated it BOM as it is a more reliable rainfall indicator than the Southern Oscillation Index. So I decided a complete rebuild was in order, stripped the stunning Flamed QLD maple body back bare, put a bigger radius on the edge and sculpted larger body contours as the originals were a l...ittle shallow, that also shed a little weight, refinished it in Root Beer nitro. Built a new neck from the more stable American Rock Maple with a little subtle flame, fretboard is a piece of Rhodesian Teak ( somewhere between Rosewood and Ebony in hardness) stainless medium jumbo frets, pickups are Bare Knuckle, these were the second set that Tim had built at the time, Johnny Marr got the first set and they went on to become the pickups used in the Fender Johnny Marr signature Jaguar, bridge is a Mastery, Tremolo is an AVRI, Kluson Deluxe tuners, Custom neck plate, CTS pots and Switchcraft electrics, Vitamin Q caps. 03.01.2022 Been very quiet on the guitar making front, Cheryl made me grow up and get a real job Anyway promised Sam I would build him a guitar before I hung up my gloves for a while, I only have a few pics as it was pretty much finished and whisked into making a living. A few specs: QLD Maple Thinline T style body, rock maple neck, rosewood 71/4" to 9 1/2 compound radius board, custom Brierley 3 X 3 hybrid WRHB pickups ( only the 3rd set ever made, and I got all 3 sets to date ) Gotoh bridge and tunas, medium jumbo frets, CTS and Switchcraft electrics, cheers for having a gander
