25.01.2022 Just after someone or a group of volunteers to judge the last fence if anyone can do it. Can work around a few rides or a good fence for first time fence judging. Please contact me via this page if your able to help out

25.01.2022 Regretfully we are amongst the many competitions that are going to have to postpone our upcoming event. Our committee have been keen to explore a few different options to be able to run a small ODE or eventer trial. But with all that is going on by the day we decided to wait till this is all over (whenever that may be) The Harden Horse Trials was scheduled for the 2/3rd of May. Our course is almost ready to go and rains have made it nice and green. We have new jumps from R&J... and plans to rebuild the old Irish wall jump, replace the number 1 fence (telephone box’s), a train jump will also be built as a theme for our unique style XC course. If there is a possibility closer to the time (or in next few months) to run some clinics or even a clear XC round day we will attempt to get it up and running. We are happy to take any expressions of interest in any of these. Gov regulations and people’s safety will be a priority. And to all our supporters please stay safe and healthy and we can’t wait to get back together for some more eventing!!! Some pretty crazy cavalry pics that make our hills look pretty harmless!!

24.01.2022 A huge thank you to Rob and Jo from Giddy Up Gags & Bits, Young for sponsoring the HHT 1 class! They are our go to saddlery suppliers locally!

23.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who showed up today!- we got the course ready for the PC ODE next weekend! We will need another working bee again in April- TBA and a few more in May so we can be ready for our awesome event. It’s shaping up to be fabulous!!

22.01.2022 We had a great but busy weekend at AELEC Tamworth with Emily Bowker and myself (Natalie Blundell) at the Course Designer and Technical Delegate seminar. This is a must to update and upgrade qualifications for these very important roles in the sport. Our heads are now spinning with all the info we received. People don’t even go close to realising what goes behind the scenes of our events and what we have to do and know to become officials. And for 99% of us its all voluntary.... This seminar is all to keep events running professionally and improve the quality, and safety of eventing for now and in the future. I do recommend more people attend these seminars to be more in touch with what’s involved and more importantly become a volunteer and join a really great bunch of people. Thanks to our National Safety officer Roger Kane and 5 Star course Designer Wayne Copping for the informative lectures and practical exercises to gain and improve our knowledge. Also thanks Vicki Burgess and Eventing NSW for organising the weekend. And a special mention to the Tamworth Horse Trials Team for letting us intrude and learn from you guys. 8 different courses from 45cm to 4 star and so little time to get it done and at an amazing venue for us all to be envious of. I was a bit slack taking pics (sorry) but between Emily and I here are a few pics of the venue and jumps!!

17.01.2022 Some exciting new changes happening at Harden XC course The Harden Pony club and Horse Trials combined working bee saw some positive changes for future events. Special thanks to Jamie Parker from Parkers Smash Repairs who picked up all the new jumps from R&J Equestrian Supplies today. Especially as it was your bday Also to Ashley Jones (Jonseys Bobcat services) for moving all the old and new jumps around, knocking stuff down and tidying up!! ... To both of you boys you deserve a few beers for putting up for us crazy woman’s requests Seeing as our scheduled event had to be cancelled, we are tentatively thinking of running a clinic/clear round XC training day mid August. (15th and 16th a possibility) If you would be interested in something like this, please leave your thoughts in the comments section or any suggestions that we will bring to the next meeting/ AGM.

17.01.2022 This was the weekend we were supposed to run our event. Can’t help think we dodged a bullet this time. We moved our event to May to avoid the big chill Harden is notorious for. But given the circumstances I know a lot of crazy horse people would still prefer to compete in this than being in lockdown!! Hope you all are well and would be great to see you all again soon!!!

16.01.2022 We would love to see you there!!

14.01.2022 Buzzing around this arv with some lovely potted colour and Xmas trees thanks to a little fairy who turned up late last night in the dark to drop them off and decorate some fences (THANKS BENJI ) Had a little time to reflect and appreciate some of Karl Steininger’s last fences he built for us. One of my favourites are the big chairs on top of the course named after Karl as a tribute to his support over many years. The course is looking great. New jumps made by R&J Eques...trian supplies. Still some decorations to go up (that have been recycled from Sydney 3de) last weekend. We have new yards and next year we will have lots of powered sites! It’s all going ahead on our little grounds. Hopefully a little much needed rain will soften up the going for Sunday!! See ya’s all there

11.01.2022 Introducing the new Next Gen Harden Horse Trials Committee from left: Emily Bowker- Secretary and Treasurer Melanie Giacoman- Public Officer Jeff Cartwright- Vice President ... Nat Blundell- President It came news to us earlier this year that some of our very long standing members were wanting to retire from the administrative roles. Judy Stewart one of our founding members, Treasurer and previous President and has performed many roles in service to our club. As was her late husband Bob Stewart who again was always there to help out as well as serving as President for a time. Marg Pestell- our very long serving secretary and founding member has also elected with great sadness for family reasons and passes on her roll to Emily Bowker. Marg and her family have been hugely dedicated members of the horse community in the region. Fabio Giacoman- has been scoring for us for many many years and has also been our President. He and wife Anne will still help out and will train up daughter Mel Giacomin in the scoring role. Harden Horse Trials was started in 1983 with the founding members all putting in $50 to get the club started. The cross country course was built and in 1984 the first event was held. We sincerely thank everyone over the years for contributing to our club and the new committee are keen with some new ideas in taking our club forward into the future for the next generation to enjoy!!
