23.01.2022 I have just published another section of the Hardtop Hub website, that section being "Tech Articles", whilst there will be a lot more added to that section in the future, I have started with the "Suggested assembly order". Now I've typed that up purely from memory and by looking at pics, plus of course my own experience with building Falcons. I welcome feedback, have I missed something, is something in the wrong order. Note: There are of course areas of the car that can be a...ssembled in a different order to I have listed, as they do not affect each other, but if you see something listed that must be done before something else listed earlier please let me know what and why so that I can correct it for the benefit of others. www.hardtophub.com.au

22.01.2022 Hey there everyone :) With all the activity in the collectable car market, there seems to be a little confusion as to who is who out there. So I thought I might... step out from behind the anonymity of the keyboard and introduce myself. I am Adam Smith - and I am the founder of XA-XB Concours Restorations. I have focused on the XA and XB models, as when I was a kid, they were the cars I first owned. In fact, my very first car as a bullet-proof 17 year old, was a Calypso Green XA Falcon 500 with a white painted roof, 6 Cylinder, and 3 on the tree. I bought it from the wreckers for $375, and it was EXACTLY the shitbox you would picture it to be. But it was straight, and it was all the same colour... My second car was a Copper Bronze XB Falcon 500, and I absolutely loved that car. All the epic memories were forged with my mates in that car. A lot like Eric Bana and his 'Beast' - we all worked, lived and played in that car. Of course I had other cars, but that was the one with the fondest memories. Given my Dad was a motor mechanic with his own shop, I have always been into things with motors. From racing dirt bikes, having a race prep shop, to restoring cars and building random shit. I have always loved to create and fix things. I have a Mechanical/Structural Engineering background, so I am naturally inquisitive to how things work. I have (on a life scale) recently got back into owning a couple of old Fords - a Hardtop, and a Ute. Both will be restored, with the Hardtop currently on the rotisserie getting a full quarters off, nut and bolt restoration. This is mostly being conducted by my friend and business associate Brian R. (very private guy, not on FB) who is a Panel Beater/Spray Painter, and does some OK work for an old guy :D Together we own a gaggle of XA and XB variants. I got into the dash (and other stuff) restoration when my own Hardtop parts were rendered unusable by another person who was recommended to me. Outside of the passion for the old Falcons that were so influential on my childhood, I enjoy Surfing, Beach Volleyball, I am a certified Rescue Diver, and I love a good Dad joke :D My goal is to help people out by doing the very best I can, I want to be one of the enjoyable experiences of your restoration, and I am motivated to constantly improve the product. That's me in a nutshell - I humbly would like to thank each and every one of you for reading this, and most of all, thank you so much for following what I do, and the kind comments many of you take the time to write. Cheers, Adam

17.01.2022 I’ve had plans for a big, supercharged Ford cruiser for a while but I just wasn’t sure what to use as base. While I love Mustangs, I wanted to do something a bi...t out of the norm, and what better platform to do it than the last V8 interceptor, the mighty Falcon XB. I really like these cars and their style; You can clearly see the Ford heritage but the lines are much tougher-looking than the equivalent Mustang or Torino. The XB looks like (and I do apologize for the overused stereotype) a jacked up Kangaroo with boxing gloves. With this particular render, I tried to add a little bit of James Bond to Mad Max, with a supercharged 5.8 GT500 engine (so its still a 351, technically) new interior materials, new suspension and a slightly wider body. What do you think? Do you like it? . . . . . . . . #ford #falcon #gt #351 #v8 #madmax #interceptor #green #svt #shelby #gt500 #630 #hp #cruiser #restomod #australia #aussie See more
16.01.2022 Please let us share some of what we do... When you, the owners give us your dash, you give it to us to restore. To restore does not mean "if it isn't broke, do...n't fix it". It does not mean simply a coat of paint. These cars are rapidly approaching 50 years old. Everything should be cleaned, checked, and if it was a problem area, discreetly upgraded. So when you, the owners, entrust us with your restoration, that's exactly what we do. We restore it! ALL of it - down to every last component, every time. We have spent countless hours researching finishes, coatings, colours and model variants. And where possible, we research NOS items so we have a factory benchmark. It doesn't mean we get it all perfect all the time, but our heart and soul goes into trying. We will showcase this dash later in the week, for now, please enjoy some restoration detail pics. (All screws and clips are refinished originals)

08.01.2022 Have you checked out the factory paint colour section on the website? Currently working on the XB/XC colours, however the XA page is in need of some good images of some of the colours (in each variant, Falcon / Fairmont / GT). If you see an empty spot on the page that you’ve got an image for, it would be very much appreciated if you could PM us (posting it in comments will reduce the resolution, but by all means do both). www.hardtophub.com.au/paint
02.01.2022 Cooool! Whilst limited info currently, super excited to see how this potential new race series evolves. 80% scale size bodies on tube chassis, running 4L Rover V8s (Which sound awesome). Looks like they are aiming to offer XB Hardtop, XY GT, HQ Monaro and Charger bodyshells (I dare say with the potential to add others if the series is successful). Link to their Facebook page in the comments below.
