22.01.2022 There was a snake that crawled over a sharp saw and was cut. In anger the snaked wrapped the saw with its thick body and attempted to squeeze the life out of th...e saw. With each angry squeeze the snake felt more pain, but it continued because it wasn’t going to let the saw get away with the pain it was causing. Refusing to let go of the saw, the snake eventually died, without knowing that it needed to let go of the initial pain and focus on the future and where it was going. Instead, the snake lost it’s life and couldn’t even see this coming. Control your anger, forgive those that hurt you, and don’t give people or things power over you. It can ultimately kill you...

14.01.2022 Hare Krishna Valley is an organic farm and retreat centre based upon the principles of eastern spirituality. Hare Krishna Valley is an organic farm and retreat centre based upon the principles of eastern spirituality and dedicated to demonstrating an example of eco living, organic gardening and the practice of bhakti yoga. On the second Sunday of each month the members of HKV open their doors and hearts to one and all to share their culture and way of life.... Guests arrive at 12 noon, and are greeted with a smile before entering the Temple room to participate in the blessing ceremony, which is accompanied by mantra chanting and dancing. For those who prefer to just sit back and observe, there are comfortable couches provided. We then engage in an enlightening philosophical discussion, which includes questions and answers with one of our senior monks. Sit back and ponder as you are lead on a journey into the meaning of life in a light hearted and sometimes humorous fashion. At 2pm everyone partakes in a mouth watering vegan/vegetarian feast, prepared with love and devotion by some of our expert chefs. Each month offers a new cuisine from around the world, and everyone leaves with a feeling of satisfaction and a full belly! After the feast our guests are welcome to join us for a walk to visit our cows. Our farm follows the principal of ahimsa (non violence), which means our herd live their whole life without fear of being slaughtered. There is ample parking on site, and disability parking is also provided. Please note that this is a family friendly event and no alcohol, drugs, meat or smoking is allowed on the property. Check our website or Facebook page for updates. To confirm your attendance please book via Eventbrite on the link below.

04.01.2022 The Festival of Colours, also known as "Holi", is a great day out where coloured powder is thrown over friends and family! The event will be held at the Torquay Front Beach Foreshore, The Esplanade, Torquay, VIC, 3228. A good part of the day will be spent throwing colours. At regular periods we will alert you to throw the packets of coloured powders. For best results, come with a white T-Shirt! During the day we will feature LIVE music, face painting, meditation and free fort...une card reading for your entertainment. For the younger ones, there will be jumping castles and kids activities. This is a cultural event celebrating the oneness of human spirit, and is based upon an ancient festival which finds its origins in India. The God of play, Lord Krishna, would engage in the throwing of coloured powders with His cowherd friends. The festival signifies the blooming of colours which manifest with the arrival of autumn and spring. In order to attract the public to an event which celebrates peace and harmony between humanity and nature, the residents of Hare Krishna Valley are staging this festival for the community of the Surf Coast Shire. This event provides an opportunity for the broader community to discover the way of life of the members of Hare Krishna Valley, and to join them in the celebration of a time honoured festival. We will also have heaps of delicious vegetarian/vegan meals, snacks, chai and drinks available on site. Come with a smile and an empty stomach! http://www.festivalofcolours.com.au/ Checkout our Facebook page to see all the photos and fun we had last year! The Festival of Colours is proudly sponsored by the Surf Coast Shire and the Victorian Multicultural Commission. You may wish to buy the colours online through Eventbrite. Colours are priced at $10 for a packet of 3 colours per person. The colour packets will be given to you at the venue registration table. https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/festival-of-colours-torquay Please note the following: You will need to buy the colours - 3 packets at $10. At venue each packet costs $5. You must bring your Eventbrite ticket to the venue to receive your pre-ordered colours. No refunds are possible once colour packets are sold.
