19.01.2022 Yesterday we had a visit from the Holstein Australia classifier Sean, on a day when the wind was blowing straight off Antartiica, even if it was officially the first day of summer. We now have the following newly classified cows in our herd: Jaguar Classic Rose 1-ET-Red - EX90... Nerrena Park Boliv Prue - EX90 (Mitchell's first home bred excellent cow) Harklaje Boliv Japonica - EX91-2E Hullabaloo Contender Leesa - EX91-2E Linden Jet FJ Kite-IMP-ET-Red - EX91-3E 8 new STP cows and 3 Silver STP cows 13 new VG cows including Harklaje Control Pastel VG85 2 years. 18.01.2022 Doing our bit to help fire affected dairy farmers from Sarsfield near Bairnsdale. Sitting hear watching news reports and listening to ABC Gippsland, about the sheer devastation of the fires in East Gippsland, only 200 kilometres away, makes us feel so helpless, when we were asked to donate hay we were very happy to do so. Our donation together with that of two of our neighbours, Corne and Jennifer Smit and Thorsten Johansen, has been loaded and will be delivered to Sarsfield ...on Monday. 12 trucks with approx. 350 bales will be leaving Leongatha, thanks to Brenton and Clare Williams from Bj's Earthmoving and Matt Holt, for coordinating this hay drive you are doing an amazing job. Thanks to all of those who have donated hay, the value of living in a small caring community, certainly shines through in times of need.

16.01.2022 As we all negotiate and deal with the challenges and disappointments of the last couple of weeks, may we all remember to stay safe and healthy. We are all going through our own personal pain, remember we are all in this together. Let's be there for one another and be kind and caring in a world that at times can lack this. Our farm is continuing to run, and we are very grateful every time the tanker arrives to pick up our milk, after all the world still needs to be fed. ... We do at times feel helpless and wonder if we can do more, but given the current situation we will continue social distancing, something farmers are good at.

08.01.2022 Next Monday 3 February, we are offering 8 Shorthorn/Holstein cross roan heifers for sale at the 31st Annual F1 Heifer Sale, Koonwarra Saleyards starting at 10am. 5 x blue roan and 3 x red roan first calving, 2.5 year old heifers, all with calves at foot, sired by red angus bull and born mid October 2019 on. They have been depastured to low birth weight red angus bull from end of December, all were hand reared and are very quiet. All calves have been double vaccinated with 7in1.

02.01.2022 As our beautiful country continues to burn, it sure does put things into perspective. Yes, we do have smoke tainted drinking water and yes, we have had three days of solid smoke haze, no complaints here though. What we are enduring is totally insignificant in the grand scheme of things.... We haven't had to evacuate and we haven't lost any of our animals. Our hearts go out to all those affected by these horrific bushfires, you are in our thoughts on a regular basis, stay strong and stay safe, and take some relief in knowing that there are so many people that do care, and you are not alone. Thanks also to all the fireys who constantly put themselves on the front line.
