03.01.2022 It was great to be part of the Project Twenty Six poster exhibition last night, amongst such an amazing line-up. Thanks @anastasialiolio for getting me involved. Thanks to all the people who came out and the other creatives who contributed artwork. Idea: Thinking about the recent summer we have experienced in Australia most people I spoke to described it as crazy. Crazy would also be one way to explain world leaders approach to issues around our shared planet and climate chan...ge. The Rorschach test is a visual tool that was developed to gain insights to peoples psychological state. I chose this style to represent my chosen letter M for its connection to the way we live in a time where we seem to see the same thing so differently. This approach also allows the viewer to find new images in the detail of the artwork. The secondary level of symmetry in natural vs man-made designs also fascinates me. As humans we seek out symmetry in the natural things we see and we then try to add it into the things we make. However when we look closer exact symmetry doesn’t exist in the natural world. Process: I started by folding an A3 sheet in half, then after unfolding it I applied drops of ink in a rough M shape. I used a hollow pen to blow certain parts of the ink away from the centre line. Once this was done I folded the paper back in half then unfolded it and let it dry. I created a few different variations of the form, some more abstract. I then scanned them and layered three in Photoshop. . #typography #lettering #alphabet #M #rorschach #poster #posterdesign #posterart #type #blackandwhite #bw #graphicdesign #graphicart
